Entrance Preview

Writing entrance exams did not have any importance for entrance in sastra. But now sastra has admissions based only on 12th marks, but the main stream of 70% admission is based on 75% of 12th marks and 25% of JEE marks. If u get above 1100 and 70 approx in Jee, it will be good enough for any course in sastra.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course which I studied was mechanical. The teachers and faculty are very good with atleast 3 degrees. They teach you more of practicals and very polite and ready to help. Overall the curriculum is very good and is enjoyable here in this college. Sastra is known for mechanical and civil engineering courses.

Internships Opportunities

The internship was good. There were 2 internships in the second and the other internship in the third year. The college itself takes the responsibility to send it's students for internship. In the second year they sent me to VIP bags for a week and in the third year they sent me for a month approximately to L&T.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements and job opportunities are very good and equivalent to the NIT'S of our country. Our college has a 100% placement with all the students getting placed in some company. Most of them get placed in csc companies like wipro, TCS Etc. Approximately around 1800 students get placed every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarship programmes for the college as it is a very famous one. Loans are available from Indian overseas bank, city union bank Etc. Scholarships are available if you are in the hostel having a CGPA of 8 and above with attendance greater than 90%. You will get a scholarship of 12000 per year.

Campus Life

4

The campus life at sastra is very good and friendly. There is a good team coordination between students. There are many debates and competitions literally every Sunday in the college which is very advantageous for our college students in the hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni and senior students are very helpful. We have to select teachers every semester which we need the help of our seniors. Also the seniors can guide you regarding the extra courses known as electives. It is better to take electives regarding your department.

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
