Nirmalagiri College Kannur, BA, Economics

Reviewed on May 17, 2020

Remarks

The college is really good. There are various facilities available for the students. There are hostel, canteen, library, seminar halls and multi gyms are also there. The allover campus infrastructure is amazing.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am doing Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Economics) from here and the course is well structured as well as researched. All of the important lessons and topics are covered in the course. The college examinations are Semistars wise.

Placement Experience

However you have to seek internships on your own . But there are Campus recruitments and the campus cell is good and they prepare us well for the placements. Also our teachers give us good placement guidance.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My college is a minority institution, hence the fees is very feasible for everyone. I am doing Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Economics) the total three years fees of which is Rs.8,070 also various scholarships are provided.

Fees and Financial Aid

As my college is affiliated to kannur university, there are many scholarship programs for the economically vulnerable students, or for the students who are performing good in academics. Or even for the minorities.

Campus Life

There are various events and extracurricular activities taken place throughout the year. Seminars are also conducted for students knowledge. The college's main mission is to provide opportunity of higher education to all, irrespective of caste, creed and gender.

Admission

I chose Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Economics) over any other degree course as I want to be in IES. The Admission criteria is qualifying 10+2 examination and the college is affiliated to kannur university which conducts admissions for the academic year through CAP I registered online for the admission. And the students here get admission based on rank after the processing of application, & Marks in the qualifying examination.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of my college is really helpul and understanding as well as friendly with us and enthusiastic to educate us. The teachers of economics help us with every topic whenever we need. The teachers aim to make there students confident and skilled enough.

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA
