The wisdom centre- Rampurhat College

The Rampurhat College located at Birbhum, is a great platform for empowering the youth. Their aim is to bring up students with all the knowledge, exposure and social responsibility. They promote unity in diversity.

The college is working under the University of Burdwan. They follow the syllabus of the university. So here we take-up six semesters. The papers like auditing, e-commerce, economy, business law, corporate law, micro & macro economics along with various branches of accounting are covered. There is also a project work to pass in this Accountancy degree.

The college has a placement cell. The main function of this cell is helping students with various career guidance programs. The organisations involved are NGOs. The students have to get themselves into a job through these trainings.

The college offers a good education at an affordable cost. The fee structure is made in such a way to meet the requisites of students from all communities. They follow the fee structure prescribed by the Burdwan University.

The college gives scholarships to students from economically weaker background. This is provided with a view to support and uplift those students. A part of the scholarship also covers the hostel fee.

The college has NSS wing, sports & games club, student support cell, counseling cell, women's cell, anti-ragging cell, etc. There is also a provision for the students to seek medical emergency inside the campus.

I go to college from my home. So I didn't take up hostel. But the students residing in the hostel say that the infrastructure is not well furnished. But the hostel accommodation cost is much affordable.

The alumni association of the college arranges regular meetings with the students. They help in guiding all of us through our career. The passed out students are staying connected in a facebook group. The link for that group is found on the college website.

The application is found on their official website www.rampurhatcollege.in. The process of admission is so simple. The eligibility for the program is 10+2 or equivalent board of study. The minimum percentage required is 45% in grade 12.

The department of commerce provides both general and honours courses. We have 6 faculties out of which 3 are professors, 2 are Primary Training Teachers and one guest lecturer. The main objective of our department is making the students get inspired to prepare for different competitive exams.
