Remarks

Because 1. It was near my house 2. With my rank this was the best college in Kolkata3. Fees was affordable for my parents4. College nice campus 5. Sports and other club are very active6. I know this is not a reason after admission I discovered that Heritage College is amazing in terms of taste hygiene and everything is perfect 7. College is located at a prime location very easy transport and connectivity

Course Curriculum Overview

Our College is Autonomous So course syllabus is always updated.Industrial Exposure for my stream (Civil Engg) is not very good and also due to current covid-19 we are missing the most important exposure. Civil Faculties surely has some amazing professors 1. Seema Ma'am (Fluid Mechancis ) she is one my favourite teacher I can challenge you just can't skip her class. The way she teaches there no way that you are going to have a doubt in a single topic, she is very interactive with class that really helps. Also, she an ex-IITian and she has completed her masters in Germany.2. Dev Sir he is really really amazing teacher and best in his field which is economies. After, very class we used to discuss about stock market. Also, he is also very good investor.During this classes I understood that economies is very important subject and it has is the most practical subject. He also EX-IITian and completed this MBA from IIM-C

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 420000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Yes I have opted for internship in Company - L&T Stipend - Nil it wasn't a long internship but experience was quite amazing working on field is really different from learning in class and doing practicals in labs field is totally different it's totally new you will have to start from scratch.

Placement Experience

Placement process starts in first semester of 4th year.Companies like Wipro TCS Cognizant Infosys are the main recruiters. There are also sector-specific placements from companies like Godrej and L&T but they take very few students.Heritage alumini network is very strong there are many names for example recently in vaccine preparation of coronavirus there was a girl from Oxford university she completed her BTech from heritage from biotech department.Heritage biotech and Cs department is best.My batchmate did a startup on bricks and got funding from tamilnadu government of 70 lakhs.

College Events

Big brand also sponsored this fest like oneplus oppo etc And technical festival known as Daksh which take place in month of February. Many unique competition take place during this fest colleges from all over Kolkata are invited to participate.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes there are many scholarship provided to students with good marks.Loans are also easily available from various banks.Various scholarships are provided from college and from state government which can be availed at college. For instance, there is a minority scholarship from state government to Muslims which have a certain income one of my friend has avail the scholarship for past three years.

Campus Life

Heritage Institute of Technology has the best college campus in Kolkata without a doubt.1. Basketball Court 2. Football Ground3. Tennis Court 4. Running Track 5. Volleyball Court6. ArchingYou get basket ball or any sports items by submitting your college ID after 3.30 PMWIFI :- Whole college is equipped with JIO wifi can be use by OTP verification Library :- We have 20,000 sq feet library with AC you can seat in library from 9 AM to 4 PM

Hostel Facilities

NO I haven't opted for it.Girls hostel girls hostel is located in the college campus. And no boys are allowed in girl's hostel building and there is also restriction on timing of hostel. Fees around 12k to 15k per month approximately with food included.Boys hostel is situated away from the college campus it is within 1 kilometre distance. Food is included. Fees is around 10k to 12k which includes food.Hostel rooms are generally share between two person. Girls hostel are way better than boys hostel. You can easily get PG around the college most of students take PG it's better and cheap.

Fixed timetable Classes, regular assessment and class test
The professors are very qualified and their teaching style is excellent.
A lot of books are available in the main library as well as in the department library

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus and curriculum of Calcutta University is aligned with other entrance examination (eg.IIT JAM, JEST, TIFR, GATE etc.) Specially for the Physics BSc course. And the syllabus is updated Artificial intelligence bacis, Python Advance level is in syllabus, it's completed in college. Point to be Noted - The time given to prepare for the exam is sometimes ample but sometimes it is very less. So we have to prepare syllabus in time which is little bit frustrating.

A fully equipted studio and lab for Journalism students

Dislikes

Things i disliked was the most has to be the locality the college is really nice but the locality is a bit shady

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always wanted to take up Journalism as a career and the thing which caught my attention in this college is that they have a fully equipted studio room and other colleges may have one but the students even publish there own news report here it prepars us very well for the real world

Likes

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The remaining drives mostly service based companies like TCS, EY etc and quite a few startups has visited to main campus. The package they offered mostly in between 3.5lpa - 6 lpa. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Likes

The discipline is followed very strictly. Also you have access to library which is good, teachers are helpful and no ragging policy which is strictly followed and has a decent environment.
Thery conduct seminars which encourages students. Many faculty members are knowledgeable experienced in their respective subjects and helpful willing to solve doubts beyond the classroom also.
The college has decent infrastucture including classrooms, labs and library .

Dislikes

While the curriculum is decent ,it lacks sufficeint practical implementation.More hands on projects, real world application and industry exposure would improve learning significantly.
Campus life can sometimes fell limited in terms of active student interaction.Opportunites for clubs, networking and collaborative activities could be improved.
The college comes under St tHomas School so the campus is not great it is compact and has a canteen.

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

The campus is big and full of greenery with the vibrant feel of nature.
The students of the same batch are friendly and helpful.
The teacher's are friendly and helpful. They do provide helpful recommendations for the betterment of your future.

Dislikes

The seniors are overly harsh when it comes to 1st year.
The infrastructure could be worked on. The college lacks renovation.
The hostel does require everyday cleaning and renovation as well as the campus.

Placement Experience:

I don't know much about this but I guess from the sixth semester the students are eligible for campus placements. This year a student from AEIE got a package of 11.2 lacs per annum and the average is around 4 lacs per annum.

The Framework is said to be great, with well equipped classroom and simply get to the libraries.
The offices at this college are great. In any case, these changes depending on the quality of the companies going by the college and the victory of the internship changes by the internship.
Understudies appreciate the campus life and flexibility to associate with others understudies. However, there are few impediments such as the division of floors between senior and junior. College life is nice and could be an inviting place for others

Dislikes

The college doesn't have lodging, and understudies must organize their settlement locally.
The college doesn't have a big field to play like any other big college

Placement Experience:

In Syamaprasad College placements and internships are given to the final year students. And the companies that offer placements are Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG, etc. The highest package goes up to 20-24 lakhs and the average package goes to 6-8 lakhs. 70-80% of students get their placement in my college. At that time I planned to get the degree and apply to a multinational company with a high salary package with company facilities.

Heritage Institute Of Technology, Kolkata

I applied to plenty of state engineering colleges and only made it to UIT, BU which has awful facilities and a good ragging culture. So I opted out and went to a private college. Among private colleges, as far as I know, WB, IEM and Heritage are considered to be better. IEM's strict uniform code, zero campuses made me choose Heritage over IEM. The admission process is 1) Through West Bengal Joint counselling, which I went through, 2) Management Quota. Also, another reason why I picked Heritage over other private colleges is that it's fees is lower compared to other private colleges in west Bengal....Read More
