Entrance Preview

PUNJAB CET I have taken to get an admission in engineering college. I was not able to get a seat in Jalandhar REC (now NIT'S) because of higher rank(1300), and higher fees in thapar institute of engineering and and other private colleges. I have decided to take a seat in govt. College. Because of lack of guidance and awarenace I have decide to pursue my career production engineering.

Internships Opportunities

No internship was provided to us, but we are supposed to complete our internship by our own. I have arranged my own internship after the completion of 2 yr and 7 semi six month training.

Placement Experience

No placement or job opportunity was provided by the college. We are having a placement cell the college which I never found to b working for the placements of the students.

Fees and Financial Aid

University toper fee Wave off. Branch toper 50% fee consesionSports quota fee wavier .Rs 2000 departmental scholarship for scoring more that 70% marks.

Campus Life

The gender ratio was 1 girl student on 4 boy's student. The life was coll in the campus as we were have lot of activities after our college times. And student can go to their respective event for the Pershing of there interest. Sports club, MAD club, Yoga club, Tech. Club, chess club, chef club for cooking classes. Student in our college used to come from all field of life, religion and places.

Alumni/Alumna

College is keeping no records of there alumni and have no alumni network. Even after passing form 9 years from my college I have not received any signal mail or call. Since college was having no records of our alumni so we faced lot of challenges for Carrier guidance.

An honest look at campus

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro,cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed.The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Course Curriculum Overview:

SLIET longowal has well structured curriculum as per new education policy with well structured labs. to prepare for real world, college provide funds for startup and also motivate students to gain industry exposure. Many improvements can be done in curriculum like integration of cutting edge technologies, smart board, digital labs. There are three exams per semester two minors which take place in month of august and september and major or end sem exam in month of october, the timing of exam was from 1 pm to 4 pm. the difficulty level of exam is moderate

Placements in lovely professional university is decent and dont know much about it as i am in 1st year only but there were mandatory Placement classes for all which you need to select in 1st year only for which you need to pay extra 20k for the classes.

Good staff are very nice and supportive nature. There are not any faculty problem. Functions are organized in a very large scale which is very good. Ragging are strictly banned in college which is very good for fresher students. BAD: lack of equipment and machines in labs. Lack of practical knowledge for students.
