HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Likes

The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean

Dislikes

Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.

THE IDEAL COLLEGE LIFE!

Likes

The opportunities to meet new people and interact with a whole new circle of people by Club Activities as there are quite a lot of clubs according to the student's interest.
Many places to showcase our singing and dancing talent once we join the club or take part in any of the department events.
They have multiple labs for a single department so that the students get a lot of hands on training for coding and as well as hardware.

Dislikes

4:3 Ratio of Girls to Boys in my class and i hope it's the same for all the departments as well.
The college timing can go from 8:30 AM to 5:10PM.
The 75% attendance is kind of doable and maintainable to an extent.

Placement Experience:

about 70 to 80 percent of the students get placed afdter the colleg and the ones not placed also gets placed after the college with high network and communication from other contacts within the college, ZOHO Corp does take placements and i am preparing for my CAT exams as i am planning for My highers at IIM, 5th semester is when the students become eligible for the campus placements and the seniors are a good connection who help to get places and get a job after the completion of degree.

Don't judge people by how nicely they act

I chose this college because my seniors referred to it, as they will be getting 10 k for a pg student and 5k for a ug student. I didn't knew much about this college while i came here. And the admission process was too long.. Literally i have to submit everything, they even asked about stamps, and stamp size photos during that time and after each sem they are asking the same and i felt that to disturbing! The eligibility is that even students with arrears can apply, there is no entrance exam and all as it's not that compitative college...Read More

BCA student review

I think the students only need to get more 50% in you higher secondary school. The management faculties helps you to get your application filled. You only need to pay an extra of 10,000rs for college registration, and you need to submit all you documents like TC, migration certificate, 10th and +2 certificates. The application form is available from the college departments, the admission process is so easy. The exams are took upon timing, and the results are published on timing, the college is good on that terms. They will give you some study materials and if you refer them you can earn good marks also. Some suggestions to improve in the admission process are to give it online support also....Read More
