Anonymous's Review On Sikkim Manipal University - [SMU], East Sikkim

As I was working then and wanted to do Distant MBA and this university bore a good name in distance learning. Sikkim Manipal University literally fulfilled all my expectations due to the fair exam system and procedures in place and I never regretted taking up distance learning from this university.

Well let me talk about MBA first since it was distance learning didnt get to meet the faculty, however the course curriculum was good and the syllabus was emailed to us by the regional LAC i.e. the learning centre. In graduation my college faculty was great especially my financial accounting teacher Mrs Neetu. The syllabus was detailed by the university itself and interacted to us via our faculties. Industrial exposure here was great too as recruitment drives from big named companies used to be conducted in my college

I appeared for recruitment drive from IBM and INFOSYS and got selected in both. The number of students placed were approx 100 out of 1000 appeared and only 35 out 1500 appeared respectively in both these companies and i was selected in both of them. My placement department was damn too amazing as it gave exposurr to really big biggies.

My graduation college had a big auditorium with a space of 1000 students to be accommodated at once and all cultural, technical, and informative seminars and festivals used to happen in this auditorium. They used to quite big scaled and I had participation in almost all of them as I was the head girl of the college.

I had availed scholarship from college as i had scored more than 80% in cbse class twelfth. It was some percentage deduction in the total course fee. Remebering back then the scholarship was around 15% deduction in the college overall course fee

Campus infrastructure had all sorts of facilities like various computer and science labs with a minimum of 50 students to be adjusted in one room. It also had all other facilities like playgrounds for basketball, cricket, volleyball, hockey etc plus the privilege of accessing the wifi with limited usage.

Hostel facility was available in my college and very much easy to avail with rooms available upto 700 and all on a minimum of twin sharing. I did took it earlier, however, the facilities here were quite improper and I had to then leave it and move to a PG. PG rentals at that time were around Rs 5000 for the room and the food to be paid extra.
