The Cochin College Kochi, B.Com, Computer Applications

Reviewed on Aug 22, 2020

Remarks

The factors that drove me to take admission in this college is it is situated within Ernakulam city. Some of my friends were also got admission there. The name of the college during the time of my admission was RU college. Now it is renamed as Cochin college. I selected this course because it has more job opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum of Bcom computer application includes lab sessions. The syllabus was quite good. There was no enough industrial exposure. During 3rd year we had a field trip. There was a main project in 6th semester.

Course Fees: INR 11200 per year

Placement Experience

1.5

The placement programmes for final year students were not that much good as other colleges. The college need to work on placement wing. It would help students to experience the job procedures.

College Events

The college life was wonderful. Our college conducts festivals like Onam and Christmas. The college has organised food fest, sports day and management fests. Some of the educational institution had visited our college for conducting tests and based on marks they would provide scholarship for those who are interested in further studies.

Is engineering here worth it?

Likes

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

Cochin college campus life

Cochin college was quite good because of its well-experienced faculties in the department of botany .you can get clear theoretical knowledge from your professors but the laboratory facilities are too old there are not many things to explore in the laboratory and campus also. You must use the library facilities of the college. This is an mg university-affiliated college. Admission is through a centralized allotment process conducted by the mg university If you have a very good score in your plus two exams then you must choose a college with a high naac accreditation grade or appear in integrated pg entrance exams of the various central university that will definitely enlight your career. If you score only 70-80 percentage in your plus two exams then this college is good for this range of marks and if you want to experience real campus life then study hard in your graduation and take admission in any of the prestigious institutes in India for your pg program. The faculty of this college is very good....Read More
