Remarks

This college is especially known for its outstanding success in sports. Because i was a cricket player before so i joined this prestigious university for betterment of my game apart from academics. Apart from sporys this college is excellent for the course Computer Science and Engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview

My course syllabus is updated as per UGC guidelines. As i'm a 2nd year student, so i don't know much about industrial exposure but talking to seniors they were quite satisfied by the college in regard of providing college exposure. All the faculties are well educated here and almost all holds a PG degree in their respective domains. Our HOD Mr. Sandeep Sharma is excellent in his domain and he is one of the finest faculties of our college.

Internships Opportunities

I has interned in Unschool as a marketing intern for 1 month. My profile was to reach maximum crowd and sell the course. As stipend is a confedential data of any company so i don't want to disclose it. The process was firstly you have to apply for the job through INTENSHALA and upload your resume. If you will be shortlisted then their HR will call you and take your interview. And if you are selected for the internship, they will offer you the internship with the offer letter.

Placement Experience

4

Almost 92% of students are placed every year. Companies like TCS, NAGARRO, CAPGEMINI, IBM visited here last year. Placement process is very much smooth here and placements department is excellent in this college. From the very first year of your degree they recruit students so that they become pro when their turn of placements will arrive, they will rock. Alumni networking is good for job referrals. Startups like HARDSPAR and GITMOSITY started by my batchmates.

College Events

4.5

Campus life is excellent here as you will get in any government college. Lots of events which happens here the whole year. Techincal Fests are known as TACHYON and the whole college are invited in it for participation. Cultural Fests are known as JASHAN and it is the biggest fest of university in the whole year and participation process remains same. Management Fests are known as EXORDIUM and Only the students of BBA and MBA are invited in it.

Fees and Financial Aid

College provides full and partial scholarships respectively according to the financial status of GENERAL students. But for SC and ST students full scholarship are being provided by the college.

Campus Life

Sports facilities are excellent in this college. Wifi is available for hostel students from evening 5 to morning 9 on week days and for whole day on weekends. Library is four-storey multiple building with tonnes of books in it. Equipments are also new and advanced.

Hostel Facilities

I have opted for hostel. Rooms are sharing of four and two students respectively in First year and second to fourth year. Here hostel seats are less, so you haveto be quick while applying for the hostel. But as a outside state student, you will generally get the hostel.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Chandigarh University - [CU], Bachelor of Pharmacy [B.Pharm]
Reviewed on Sep 6, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i have opted the course B.Pharmacy! I rate the course as optimal, neither too bad nor too good, its medium! Now comes on teaching method, some teachers are really well and good and few are those who does not teaches but only writing writing, thats it, they will not explain at all! And one thing they should change is that All Courses except B.Pharmacy in Chandigarh University have the criteria to pass the student even below the 40% only or the half of the highest number scored by the topper in the class, and for Bpharmacy its minimum requirement to pass the exam is 50%, Oh My God! This needs to be changed, Now every year, in Bpharmacy, the overall 80% students are getting Compartments (Back/Fail) in the subjects, but the University is not understanding it all. So this should be changed as earlier!

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
