Remarks

Strength- 1.senior most faculties are the knowledge banks. And they always motivate you to do some thing beyond your learning.2. Great greenary campus and good environment of sports.3.Good hostel facilities at low cost.4. No ragging at all.Drawbacks- 1.very few placements record.2.only senior faculty is good newer one are worst.3.less competitive environment.4.for internship they were tied up for very few companies. Finally i want to say that this college is not upto date enough to meet todays need.

Entrance Preview

The entrance test i faced was IIT JEE.The admission was based on the rank of jee main rank. My all india rank was 90 thousand. And all the branches were available for me at that rank. But due to my interest in mechanical i choosen mechanical engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Course curriculum is very much similar to the nearest iit. That is iit Roapar, punjab. It follows the syllabus and pattern of semester exam similar to iit, Roaper. But something is very much different from them like our college provided 2 months ansd 6 months research oriented internship training in 3 and 4th years.Mostly senior faculty are best in there subjects and they always promotes students towards research. Mechanical branch having most no. senior faculty about 20 and then after E&c 18 and then 14 for electrical. Least senior faculty ia in civil branch also it is newly open. But the newer faculty are worst one in almost all the branches.

Internships Opportunities

As i said that there was two internship training programme one was held for 2 months and another was for 6 months. In both internship was with indian railway. My nature of project was electrification, maintenence, and working pricnciple of rail Ac coaches. How to minimise rail ac coaches cost.

Placement Experience

1

Placement is below average for any other branch except computer sceince and little bit of electronics.some good companies visited were infosys, wipro, trp gurus, volvo, Nestle and swaraj trackers. But thePlacement ratio was not good. 3 out of 120 were placed in mechanical branch in NESTLE infia.

College Events

1.5

There were 5 to 6 college festivals. Biggest Technical festival is ISTE.It stands for Indian society for technical education. Robotics, automatio, design related to cad cam, vlsi, etc are subjects for participation.SECA it stands for society for electronics and communication engg. In this apart from the technical activity dancing, singing, cat walk, poem writing etc were also done. Annual fest, varonika were another another fests.Students of so many colleges are invited to take part in it.

Fees and Financial Aid

State scholarships are only available for domicile students. Economicaly weak with good academic record holders and resident of punjab only are eligible for such scholarships. There is no any other scholarships provided.

Hostel Facilities

2

There are 4 hostels for boys and 2 for girls. In 1st and 2nd year one room is shared by 4 students and 3rd year onwards they are alloted with single rooms.Hostel rent is low it is about 1700? for sharing rooms and 3000? for single rooms annually. Also hostel is fully wi-fi.The mess is provided in the hostel. There is also a good diet food chart.Breakfast for morning, lunch in noon and a diner at night.Non veg is not available in the mess. 1800? to ?1900 per month is for per month. Seats are sufficient as per students including pg.

Alumni/Alumna

Not a large no. of students are placed in good companies most senior students are engaged in there own business in local area. Few of them managed to to better.Few of our senior are tata motors, isro and some are in railways. Buy knowing the position of seniors my experience was not good enough to describe it.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
