Remarks

You get know people from other state ie the students are mainly from andhra pradesh, telangana and tamil nadu. Girls are not allowed to go outside the campus. Boys can go but should be in the campus by 8:30 pm. College mainly focuses on academics.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum and exam structure is designed by a board of highly qualified faculty. The syllabus is completely based on GATE syllabus and is very helpful for students preparing for GATE. 3 internal exams will be conducted and best 2 scores will be taken into consideration for final score. End semester exams are highly standard and only bookish knowledge is not sufficient to attempt.

Placement Experience

4.5

SASTRA University is mainly known for its placements. Almost 90% of the students get placed in campus. More than 150 companies come to recruit students from various departments.

College Events

3.5

There are 3 fests that happen every year in SASTRA. The first one is related to sports and it is called "Colosseum". Students from various colleges come to participate in different sports. We have the South India's biggest technical fest called "DAKSH". And finally a cultural fest is held in the month of march called "Kurksastra".

Fee Structure And Facilities

In my opinion, the fee structure is feasible compared to all other universities in India. The college provides transparency in the fee-breakdown. The fee varies every year for the newly joining students. And there is 5% increase in fee every year. The tuition fee for our batch ie 2017-21 was 1.1 lakh when we were in first year and this does not include hostel fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college basically offers 2 types of scholarships. 1) Hostel Scholarship: this is given to the hostel inmates who have full attendance in hostel, above 90% attendance in regular classes and also good cgpa. 2) Dean’s Merit Scholarship: this is given to the students who score good cgpa ie either top 2% or top 10%

Campus Life

The university also provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls. There are 9 boys hostels and 5 girls hostels with wifi and gym facilities. There are laboratories in respective schools for students to apply their knowledge practically and gain exposure. The labs are well equipped. There is also a dispensary for students and faculty for basic medical needs.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are very interactive and give proper guidance and suggestions in every aspect. It is highly recommended to interact with seniors before attending any placement. Also in choosing faculty they give the best advice based on how they teach and how they evaluate the exam papers.

Admission

SASTRA Deemed To Be University gives admissions purely based on merit. There is no management quota. Each and every student in my college are given admissions through merit. Basically they consider 2 criterias for giving admissions. First thing is jee main score and +2 score. Secondly they consider only +2 scores. I’ve got my admission through stream 1.

Faculty

4

The faculty handling all the subjects are highly qualified. They maintain a very friendly and healthy relation with students. Students interested in paper presentations, projects can seek the help of the faculty and they are very helpful in this aspect.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
