Remarks

There are more rules become lineament if we become senior but if we are a first year then we will face so many restrictions.

Entrance Preview

SASTRA University has no entrance exam but it takes stdents based on corresponding board exams score and JEE mains marks.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

SASTRA follows the Choice–Based Credit System (CBCS). CBCS has been designed to facilitate students to complete credit requirements at their own choice of courses and faculty. The B. Tech. curriculum has 225 credits comprising 75% theory and 25% practical courses. The final semester includes a project work and viva. The B. Tech. programmes are spread over four years (eight semesters), averaging about 27 credits per semester – the AICTE UG–credit being defined as 50 minutes of lecture and 100 minutes of self–study per week, for 15 net weeks (spread over 19 calendar weeks). The course work during the first year is mostly devoted to basic engineering and science courses, which constitute 61 credits. Out of the remaining 164 credits, students have to earn a minimum of 108 credits through core courses, 31 through departmental electives and 12 from interdisciplinary open electives. In addition, students earn 4 credits on HR skills and 9 credits for end–semester Project work.

Internships Opportunities

Internships are provided at Sastra mostly in eighth semester if you are good at coding and have passion for it then you can grab opportunities whenever you want.Faculty always supports you.

Placement Experience

5

One of the best colleges in providing placements to their students in the year 2012 our college stands in first place in south India and created a record. Nearly 50 to 60 MNC's visit our college every year. Companies like TCS, IBM, ACCENTURE, ZOHO, AMAZON, ROBERT BOSCH, MICROSOFT, INFOSYS, VERIZON, KLATENCHOR, WIPRO, TECHMAHINDRA, MUSIGMA etc every year TCS will hire 1 thousand people minimum and they offer 3.2lakhs per annum, ACCENTURE will hire 400 people with the same package, IBM will hire 300 people with 3.5lakhs per annum these companies will play major role in providing placements.

College Events

4

Technical fest is daksh takes place on every march cultural fest is kuruksastra a three day even generally conducted in march of every year sports fest is Colosseum takes place in February and there are so many branch wise fests taking place in the college events so many neighboring colleges also come and take part.

Fee Structure And Facilities

According to my knowledge this is the private university with least fee it is around 1,10,000 for first year as of now and increases by 5% for every year and u can get loan easily from punjab national bank of trichy if the student lost his father during his study then sastra management will provide him education for free throughout his studybin university.

Fees and Financial Aid

Instant loan without any surety is provided by punjab national bank branch of trichy we have to repay once we get job if you are in top 20% the u will receive 20,000 fee wavier for each semester and also there are some other scholarship plans for students to avail.

Campus Life

4.5

There is a decent girl to boy ratio there are so many clubs, fests and so on for students to take part robotics club at sastra is there which develops new kind of things sports fest is held namely Colosseum it takes place in february every year.

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostels are somewhat average for first years rooms are shared by four students and later we can choose our room type coming to mess food gonna be a problem for u if u r a non vegetarian. Here they serve only vegetarian also veg food is not nice for those who are habituated to home food.

Alumni/Alumna

The good part is we don't have any ragging from seniors and so there is a friendly relationship between seniors and juniors alumni network is there which is so helpful to us.

Exam Structure

Exams are conducted continuously there are three mids for each semester. the mid exam marks are considered as internals internals contribute 50 marks and externals 50. Together 100 which results in our gpa so internals also are very important here for us at SASTRA.

Admission

Sastra University will select 70% of the aspiring applicants for Sastra University B.Tech Admissions 2016 on the basis of their performance in JEE Main 2016 and +2 examinations conducted by various boards across the country. Selection for the remaining 30% of seats, will be done on the basis of the normalized aggregate +2 marks.

Faculty

3

The programme structure and pedagogy requires students to experience what they learn, and undertake specially designed tasks where they apply what they learn and also evaluate their learning. The purpose is to “involve” and “engage” students in the process of learning. In the light of this, the role of the faculty is more to facilitate learning than teaching. The faculty would be required to undertake research, develop courses and prepare relevant teaching material accordingly. Needless to say, these activities would need a great deal of creative and original thinking.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
