Remarks

The college life on the whole was very good and something that one would remember for the rest of my life. It had its ups and down but if somebody if i would recommend going to this college i would definitely say go ahead without any doubt cause one thing is for sure he would definitely have some good experience and memories for the rest of his life.

Entrance Preview

I had appear in KEAM engineering entrance. I got a rank of 13100. I always wanted to be an mechanical engineering, and in kerala sctce is one of the best colleges for mechanical stream. Also its affiliated with kerala university so more courses in mechanical stream.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum of kerala university is not at all good totally theoretical and practical knowledge is useless. Also the assignments given are just copy book based and no need for logical thinking and reasoning. It also needs to be a bit research friendly instead of the same old copy book style.

Internships Opportunities

No there are no provisions for internship provided by our university or college that is something that definitely needs to change.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements are mostly IT based companies like QBurst, Infosys, TCS, MuSigma, Cognizant, and there are some core companies too like Tata ELXSI, BOSCH, MRF. the core companies for mechanical stream are less. Also there are companies like texas instruments, oracle, amazon that come to recruit. Also there is a jobfair conducted every year which offer a min. package of 3lakh per annum. In jobfair students all over the state participate. Mostly packages offered are in range of 3-4 Lakh per annunm.

College Events

4.5

There are many event celebrated like the college fest called Cult A Way which is like a inter college fest where there are lot of events one can participate in and there are pro shows where some singers or djs perform its usually a big crowd of more than 10000+ students, then there is arts day which is mostly for students of our college, and Students Union organized Aufait where any student can participate but the crowd is mostly on the lower side.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is very feasible for government seats its 30000 per year and for government management seats its 65000 and for nri seats its 100000. Plus there are PTA fees which is around 500rs plus some other special fees of 1600rs. The fees structure is very feasible and not at all expensive like the private colleges where they charge like 3.5 lakh rs per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

No there are scholarships provided by our college at least not till when i was there mostly students apply for scholarships provided by center government like MOMA and ncert based scholarships.

Campus Life

2.5

Campus life is fun where everybody is allowed to have a different opinion and view there is no discrimination of any sorts. There are more boys in our college cause there were like three mechanical branches and girls usually select that are very few. About diversity the population was mostly Keralities but there were some north indians too. There were many competitions and teams for debate, football, cricket, badminton, basketball, table tennis, volley ball, fashion, band, choir, go karting. Also our college has three students wings belonging to prominent political parties like the KSU of the congress, SFI of CPI(M), and ABVP of the BJP and also one independent group of people. There were also regular elections held and strikes too if the demand of the students wern't met and an ocassional fight too.

Hostel Facilities

1

The hostel facilities of the college hostel are really bad the food is also bad there were once lizards found in the rice in the mess of the boys hostel after which there was strike in college for one week and was eventually closed down and also same applies for the girls hostel. There were very few PGs around the college but many students had taken houses for rents cause the rents where cheap and the houses where of good quality.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network of the college as such is very poor there is no info available from them but the seniors themselves are very helpful and even help in getting jobs if need be.

Exam Structure

Exams are mostly theory based where you have 10 questions of 4 marks each and 3 essay questions of 20 marks each. Also there is an internal marks of 50 marks in which 10 marks are for attendance 15 for 3 assignments, and another 25 for internal series exams.

Admission

The entrance form is available from the post office after procuring that you are given a scratch key which is used for the registration process for the exam. The exam is conducted on two days one for phy and chem and the next day for maths, also you are given a copy of your omr sheet which you get to take home to compare with the key that is released in the same day. Then after taking my cbse 12th marks which is also normalized and then the rank list is released. After getting your rank you have to choose colleges for counselling rounds there are 4 rounds and one spot round in which the seats are filled according to the vacant seats available and first come first served basis.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty of the college is mostly good very knowledgeable, helpful. The professors are mostly Ph.D holders and asst.Professors are mostly just M.Tech holders, there are also some guest lecturers that are just B.Tech holders but mostly teach the first years. The faculty in general is very helpful.

Placement Experience:

Upon reaching s7 students are invited for campus placement but they have to pass different criteria to become eligible for attending the interview, a minimum cgpa of 7.5 and academic skills a these are the basic requirements and an aptitude test will be given and in further selection these criteria are looked. I plan on pursuing a job after completing by btech. More than half the students in a batch are getting placed usually.
