Remarks

The college was established in the year 1846, the second oldest college of our state. Also, it's a govt college so fees as least as possible. The faculty is best and the campus is also very good. The admission process is merit-based and conducted from June to September. I preferred this college because the faculty is best and I heard about various co-curricular activities held there. I heard about this college from friends and teachers of my high school.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course because I love mathematics and my father is also a maths teacher. I also know some professors who teach in that college and they are highly qualified and the way they deliver is students is incomparable. There were 6 teachers and 70 students under them. All the professors were doctorates and they deliver very well. They are highly knowledgeable persons and clears doubts of all students. Exams were held every 6 months and the paper was moderately tough and checked by faculties.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internships are given in last year after 5th semester. The companies that come are Nice, Swastik academy and other local institutions. Projects are given such as to create statistical data about nearby geographical locations and also surveys are done.

Placement Experience

3.5

My college is a general college so students who pursue post-graduation get placement for nearby coaching institutes like nice or local schools. The percentage of the student is low hence not all students opt for placements. Highest package ever given was rs 27000 per month. I am planning to opt for higher studies after I complete my graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are very less as it is a government college and it is nearly 7000 for 3 years. 2 major scholarships are provided to students who excel their performance and for students who are from economically backward families get also fees less and the job is not provided as it is a general college, not a professional one

Campus Life

4.5

The annual fest is held in last week of December every year and celebrity come over and perform. There is a wide variety of books available for all subjects and also a wide variety of novels are there. Sports is held every year in February in the stadium and various types of events are held and medals are given to winners.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Ac or non-ac both is available with 24*7 services are available. The meal provided is of good quality and various dishes are sometimes made on special occasions. Registration is done on a college website at the time of counselling. The hostel is just at walking distance of 5 min from the college. It is very clean and the room is spacy and more than 3 students can easily be accomodated.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
