Remarks

Indian veterinary research institute is the premier institute in veterinary filed. It is considered as the mecca and Madina of veterinary filed. Ivri is ranked 116 among the best veterinary university globally. Ivri provides ug, pg and PhD programmes to their students ( BVSc and ah, MVSc, and PhD) Ivri is centrally deemed to be a university The fees of ivri are very nominal, Admissions to BVSc course are done on the basis of neet score. BVSc course has started here in 2015, Interested candidates have to apply on their official website i.e. ( ivri.nic.in ) after giving their neet exam, Students are selected on the basis of their neet score, There are 24 seats available in 2020 in which 21 seats are filled through ivri itself and rest 3 seats are filled by vci.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I personally chose this course because it is among the top Veterinary University in India and provides quality education, the faculty here are scientists themselves, they teach here, in the second year itself, the course curriculum would be taught by 52 scientists, the ratio of students: faculty is 2:1, all faculty are PhD holders from renowned Veterinary Universities, exams were not very easy to pass here as their faculty will not spoonfeed you by giving their all notes to recite, here you have to put all your efforts to clear the exam and mug up the books.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

there is a compulsory 1-year rotatory internship which includes various places to visit. after completing the compulsory internship the internship certificate is provided to the students failing which the student can not complete his/her bvsc and ah course.

5

the alumni of this college have been working in abroad with a handsome salary package. the internship stipend given to BVSc students is highest amongst all the Veterinary colleges in india. the stipend now is about 24,000 INR.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The students have to give mess charges monthly, The mess is self-regulated by the students to ensure quality food, the hostel rooms are shared rooms between two students and are very much spacious with British time infrastructure the hostel is lush green area with basketball court.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course, i.e. Veterinary Sciences, because I was keenly interested in the research areas in animal biology right from my formative years. I gained inspiration from my father and his colleagues who worked as research scientists at ICAR ( Indian Council of Agricultural Research). The faculty-student ratio is good, everything is according to the rules laid down by the government, as it is a state government institution. All the faculties of our college are doctors and PhD degree holders. The teaching method includes marker-whiteboards, projectors and learning by observation of the specimen. As of now, according to MSVE-2016, the schedule is annual, which includes three internal assessments and one external assessment at the end of each year. The duration of the course is 5.5 years, which includes one year of internship. Since it is a professional course, the subjects are not easy, and a consistent amount of hard work is required to retain the acquired knowledge and pass.
