Remarks

I joined JIIT Noida in 2016 and graduated in 2020 (Pandemic Period). My bachelors were in Electronic and Communication Engineering (ECE). Initially, things were pretty weird at JIIT, for example- we had to wear a uniform. On the very first day, we were given this huge pep talk on how the 4th year students were able to secure 25lac+ packages. I guess this is the main issue with most colleges in India, everything revolves around salary packages. Anyhow, life was pretty okay during the college days. Professors are extremely knowledgeable (well, most of them) but not much helpful towards any minor inconvenience that you might face. So be prepared to handle things on your own (might be helpful in the future). For the most parts, subjects are quite challenging in ECE (I got 7.1 cgpa out of 10). College placements are good and you would be able to jobs comfortably. The last point I would like to make is that the administration depart. Also, the fests are pretty great.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I was interested in Electronics, hence I decided to go for ECE. But it doesn't matter if you want a job in some other sector/ industry. About 50 students in a class. Faculty is highly qualified. To be honest, exams are difficult for the first 2 years of EC engineering. They follow this pattern 20+20+35 marks for written tests and rest 25 marks are for internals.

Placement Experience

4

From 6th semester onwards students can sit for the placements. Some of the companies that hire regularly from JIIT are - ZS Associates, Deloitte, EY, Morgan Stanley, Amazon, Tresvista, Ericsson, Adobe (Women's Program), many other small and big startups too. Highest package in my year was 45lacs CTC (Adobe) and Average is around 4-5 lacs. Since the pandemic hindered a lot with the regular placement drives, the percentage was lower for 2020 about 60-70% of students. Currently, I am working as a Business Analyst (off-campus placement) and have plans for a master's degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

My total cost of education was around 8.2 lac (tuition fees + misc fees) for the whole 4 year period. Check with the admin office for the scholarships. There are few of them I guess. The campus placement service is good. You can find a job here comfortably. But look for off-campus placements as well.

Campus Life

3.5

Annual fest name is Impressions. It's a pretty good fest. Many international artists have also performed in JIIT. The library is fully stocked with books but remembers when a professor recommends a book as a course requirement, they usually get issued out very fast. There are many technical and non-technical societies here. Music, Fashion, IT, Google GDC etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are both on and off-campus based. Placements are usually common for both IT and Non-IT students, Technical or Non-Technical. Students become eligible, in their final years to pursue internships or acquire placements. Usually students from Computer Science and Engineering avail more placement opportunities. The Medical Department have more options of Employability. Companies like HCL, Byju's, Extramarks, IBM and other local companies like Stambh Power Systems, Pieinfocomm and others have arrived. But the placement ratio needs to be increased. Off-Campus Placements are more successful. Highest Package can be 8lpa CTC to average package be 2.5lpa CTC, with profiles of assistance and associates. Atleast 30% students get placed on average. My plans are based on Learning in different ways.
