Remarks

Chandigarh University has great infrastructure from the outside but most of the classes of old buildings are obsolete. A plethora of canteens are available, and many kinds of food are available also within the university. The wifi connection is decent on the campus but it great in the hostel. There is an ambulance available at the university and medical services also provided here. There are some amazing teachers who are great in their respective fields and are very helpful in nature but a few of them are really bad. Placement as more than 500 companies visit our campus, almost 90% of registered students have been put. But also keep one thing in mind that you have to compete with other college students in the Chandigarh university placement drive. If you work hard you can certainly get placed in a good company. There are plenty of scholarships offered here, I got a 20% scholarship on the basis of my 12th percentage. You can probably get a higher scholarship.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The syllabus of the course is important but not necessary to be put you in any product-based companies, and self-study is a must. In their profession, some of the teachers are exceptional, but some are below average. If you are lucky you probably get the best teacher otherwise you are going to be highly disappointed. They are helpful though and also you can look for the best teacher for a particular subject, they will certainly help you. There are many events which will help you to make contacts with the best teachers and mentors who will help you in your future projects and guide you to prepare for industries/companies.

Placement Experience

5

Chandigarh University is best known for its placement drive and almost 90% of the students get placed in the company. The highest package offered was 31 lacs by Amazon and the lowest was around 3 lacs. Google also visited our university but unfortunately, no one was able to crack their test. Also, there are many college students who visit our university for placement drive so the competition is on the difficult side. If you prepare for the interviews well, then you will certainly be placed in a big MNC with the good package in hand.

Fees and Financial Aid

For BE CSE, You have to pay 82000/semester (including examination fee and other mandatory fees). There are many Scholarship opportunities, 10% for students who got 80 to 84.9% in 12th board. 20% for students who got 85 to 89.9% in 12th board. 50% for students who got 90+ in the 12th board. You can also get a scholarship through the Cucat or Jee mains test. There are other ways also you can get a scholarship (sports quota, SC/ST). The highest package offered was 31 lacs offered by Amazon. The lowest package was 3 lacs. Google also visited in our campus but unfortunately, no one was able to crack their test.

Campus Life

4.5

It is famous for its night events as many celebrities visit our university for promotions. Tashan Nights are organized once or twice every month which is a great escape for students from stress and we can enjoy the night. There are many Sports events organized at our university. There are so many labs and every student gets their different computer in the lab. There is a library in every block. There are many social groups and clubs for the students also.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
