Entrance Preview

I got in through all India rank given by SASTRA college based on intermediate marks. i got 974 out of 1000 in intermediate.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Sastra is well known for research purposes and mostly spends funds on wide range of research, it has top class infrastructure for research equipment and faculty. Though it is not mandatory for all the students to submit research papers like what it is in IIT’s only interested people will get into research field.

Internships Opportunities

Yes some companies offer internship with stipend and some don't.Companies such as Zoho, Paypal, Rockwell Collins, IBM, Microsoft, Fresh desk offered internship with stipend in range of 10000 to 20000.

Placement Experience

5

Regarding placement our university has records of 100% placements. TCS is the backbone of our university. It will take a lot of students. Apart from this IBM, Zoho, Musigma, Gofrugal, Chargebee Think and Learn,Thorough Good etc. Regarding department wise Ashok Leyland, Bosch, Ford,L &T, Paypal, Hyundai, Directi, Amazon, Microsoft.Around 90 to 100 companies will be coming for placements. Every student will get placed definitely. The package range is in between 27 LPA (Directi) to 3 LPA.

College Events

4.5

There are various cultural fest happen at the college one which is called Kruksastra and students from various University participate in this fest there are many renowned celebrities who has participated and performed at this event its a 4 day event with loads of fun for the student from the university as well as the students from other colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is Rs 81,000 /- per year(Rs.41,000/- and Rs.40,000/-).For First years the room rent its fixed as Rs. 6000 annually plus Rs 2000 as caution deposit plus 500 for books plus 500 as sports fee ( you have to pay only once at the start of every year). Mess fees comes around Rs.2700-3000 per month. Semester fee is increased every 2 years about Rs.5000 per semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

10. Hostel Scholarship for hostelers with a good CGPA and high attendance (more than 90%) throughout the academic year. Dean’s List Merit Scholarship for Top Scorers in University Examinations. There are two levels in this. Top 2% and 3–10%. The amount is Rs.16,000 to Rs.8,000.

Campus Life

4.5

We have good placements like TCS We have social events like Daksh, Kuruksastra. Daksh is a technical fest and Kuruksastra is a cultural fest where we invite famous singers and bands to perform. Our class hours are hectic and we need more holidays. As students, we participate in organizing these events and thus gain a lot of experience and new friends College hostels could be better with their food.

Hostel Facilities

4

Sastra mess food is completely vegetarian. Some hostels have only one plug point per room and there are power shutdowns now and then which are very unwelcome especially due to the sweltering heat. We are not allowed to go home very often and the days given are not sufficient for those who have to travel long distances.

Alumni/Alumna

Networking with seniors in freshman year will help a lot regarding academics and extra curricular activities.

Exam Structure

There will be three Mid-semesters.Out of these three the best two will be taken. And you will have lab practicals and then the Semester. Totally the Internals will be for 50 marks and the other 50 will be your Semester marks and the SGPA will be given. CGPA will be calculated based on all SGPA's.

Faculty

4.5

Coming to the faculty of Sastra it possesses well educated and experienced professors. Faculty levels are categorized based on their experience and PhD’s (like AP1, AP2, AP3 and Professor). Not everyone in faculty is the best but they are struggling their way to be best.

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
