Remarks

I would say it was a good experience in the university. I miss being there now. As we say, we come to know the value of a thing when it gets passed from your hand is proven to be true.

Entrance Preview

I took CET punjab and scored 305 in it. It was the best college i could get with this score, so i opted for it.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum was well structured. The courses defined for each semester were appropriately divided according to the level of understanding a student will develop while going through this phase. There were practical labs which were equipped with latest technologies to provide a well modernized experience to the students.

Internships Opportunities

No as long as i was there, there were no internship plans for graduation students in the university itself.

Placement Experience

3.5

These opportunities were fair enough. Not big packages though, but average packages were sufficient to satisfy the students. 85% were placed to best of my knowledge. Many companies came for placements like TCS, Accenture, Cap Gemini, Thoughworks, Amdocs, Naggaro, Headstrong etc.

College Events

4

Most of the festivals were celebrated during my tenure. Gurudwara was there in the university, so culture fests were also celebrated and other events were also organized. ECE and CSE departments used to organize the tech fests in which a number of different events were scheduled.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was feasible and the hostel charges were also fair. Most of the departments had the same fee structure but very few had different one as per the program. As this is a government university so fee structure was pretty much affordable. Around 4-5 lacs were the maximum charge for BE program including everything for the four years.

Fees and Financial Aid

No i ma not aware of any such facility offered by my university. Though there were few concessions made for few students based on their background. This was really helpful for needy students.

Campus Life

4

Campus life was more than average i would say. It all depends on the person mostly. If you are a jolly fella, you would really love this place. Gender ratio was 1:1 in the university. Sports was a major area for this university. A number of athletes reached to national levels from my university. Many other opportunities were also provided to the students like time to time debate sessions, sports meets, inter campus programs etc.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facility was good. No timing restriction were imposed so it was a pretty cool environment there. Mess was a bit disappointing though. Canteens were there in the hostel. The only thing that was missing was a 24*7 cafeteria in the university, as this was most missed during exam times.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students were not that interactive during my time there. And alumni also were not known to us. As there was no event organized for alumni during my tenure so i am not aware of that.

Exam Structure

It was pretty chilled out environment with exams and labs on daily basis. Neither too busy nor too chilled out. Though few semesters were quite tough as far as classes are concerned but it went smooth with the friends and faculty i had there. So all in all it was a good experience.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty was well qualified. Some of the professors were national award holders. The way of teaching was also good except a few lag behinds. Ad hoc based teachers were not that commanding in their subjects, so this made my experience a little bit mixed type.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Good staff are very nice and supportive nature. There are not any faculty problem. Functions are organized in a very large scale which is very good. Ragging are strictly banned in college which is very good for fresher students. BAD: lack of equipment and machines in labs. Lack of practical knowledge for students.
