Remarks

The factors which made me to join this college was mainly regarding the placements which has average placement record of 9lpa and the highest placement record holds for 32 lpa here in cgc college of engineering. Along with that the campus infrastructure also attracted me a lot to be a part of cgc family.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The way of teaching of most of the teachers are extremely best, even in online classes it is not hard for me to understand the concepts. Teachers are cooperative and are friendly in nature if you are daily interacting with them. Courses provided by the IKGPTU are fundamental according to the placement point of view and the faculties are doing their very best to convince us.

Placement Experience

4

Well placement offered in our college is fairly good and this is what mainly attracted me to join this college. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Cognizant, IBM, Amazon, Flipkart, CITI Bank, Wipro, HCL, TCS, Delloite, etc offers us a wonderful package if selected otherwise more than 600 companies visit our campus every year and lots of students get placed every year

College Events

4.5

Well, my life at the campus is totally happening life and I love it. We have lots of clubs in our college and I especially want to join the clubs which are specially for public speaking and technical working experience. College events are generally handled by our students and are handled exceptionally very very well. Privartan is our annual college fest which will be always in my memories where I enjoyed a lot as lots of Punjabi celebs come into our campus to entertain us in this fest.

Campus Life

4.5

Our entire campus is wi-fi enabled even according to the hostellers, wi-fi facilities are available in even hostels also for 24*7. Sports facilities are even so good as we have two large grounds for football, cricket, volleyball. We have one basketball court and a badminton court also. we also have clubs for the sportspersons on our campus. We have one centralized library along with a library in our college and also we have 2 main canteens and a food court

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The college provides good opportunities to those who are good at academics and for those who are not good at academics chances for them to placement are very low. During the past year, there were very good companies shown in my college for my seniors, some were very renowned companies and the highest package was something 650000.
