Course Curriculum Overview

4

I took the course of computer science and engineering because it is more relevant to the industry. In the first year of our course there was only one coding subject which is quite bad. Most of the subjects seem to be industry relevant except the few like humanities. There are 2 to 3 lab subjects in every semester ( 2nd year onwards). As for the improvements in our course I would like to have more coding subjects from the starting of our course in first year. There are two mid semester term examinations in a semester which one final semester exam. The difficulty level seems moderate. The teaching part only last for three and a half month and rest of the time is covered by examinations and other stuffs. Each of the above mention examinations are conducted after 1 or 1 and a half months each time.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are various groups to which we are joined which offer some paid internship but major internship opportunities are offered during 3rd year or so. The internship opportunities are usually from the companies which come during placements otherwise students seek for their own.

Placement Experience

3

There are a few companies which visit our college for placements. Some of them offer a good package and while the others are also mass recruiters. The average package is ?4,50,000 per annum and some companies all offer quite higher packages. The college have mentioned a highest package of ~?65,00,000 per annum. Students are eligible for placement in 4th year. Atleast 30-40% of the students are placed. I have planned for higher studies are completing my course from this college.

Fees and Financial Aid

We have a semester wise fee structure of ?65,000/semester fixed for the whole course (2023-2027). Where as for our juniors it is ~?68,000 per semester. This makes our total course fees of about ?5,20,000. 1-2 students from our class were offered a fees of ~?20,000 per semester for being under economical low section or other reasons(only after taking admission through their online portal).

Campus Life

4

The major event of our college that is held once in a year is parivartan ( for which they take ?1200 from us). The parivartan event is held at the second half of the month October. Other minor event are held frequently. Some of the events also include hackathon, freshers placement drive event( for students from2nd and 3rd year to try themselves by going through placement rounds)etc. They provide adequate focus to sports. We also have a NCC. There are also various clubs which organise various event through out the semester.

Hostel Facilities

4

I opted for hostel during admission of my course. The fees for the hostel is 65,000 per semester and they ask for hostel few a month prior to starting of the next session. We have two wardens for each hostel( one of them is senior). We also have a mess incharge who takes care of the mess facilities. The meals quality is most of the time decent but sometimes the chapati quality is bad and sabji with loads of oil. Floor & washroom cleaning is done every day and individual room cleaning is done once every week on the weekends. In the room we have a bed, table, chair, almirah etc for each person. We have 2 seater, 3 seater rooms Daily attendance of the students residing in the hostel is done during dinner time by the warden.

Admission

I took admission in this college because course fee structure seemed quite reasonable and was at industrial location. I had thought about higher studies so this seemed to be a quite reasonable college to complete my BTech.

Faculty

4

Most of the teachers are quite friendly to the students and are eager to teach. These teachers are approachable and open to doubts solving of their students. While there are a few teacher who are not at all eager to teach and are there just for attendance. Due to one of my teacher my 30 minute task of collecting my admit card took 2 hrs.( he kept me wandering in the whole block before finally giving me my admit card for unnecessary reasons). But not all teachers are like him. I have liked a few teachers due to there strong dedication towards teaching students and their knowledge and accomplishments level. There are two MST(mid semester term) in one semester and one final semester exam. 10-15 days are adequate for preparing for the final exam with strong commitment. But if you are attending classes regularly you can prepare for the final exam in 3-4 days( because some of the preparation is also done for MSTs). The paper checking for the final exam seems unreasonably strict( like we attempt/expect 55/60 and we got 45). Many a time only 30% of the class pass in the subject.

Night Life

4

A a Hosteler our mess( food ) timings are as follows: breakfast 7:30am to 9am, Lunch 12:00noon -2:00pm, Snacks 4:30pm to 5:00pm and Dinner 7:30pm-9:00pm. Usually after dinner we go around the campus for a walk. There is a gym in every hostel which are open in morning hours and evening hours. There are some parks, cafeteria for students to hangout with their friends. The library is open from 9:30am till 4:30pm and it is open for a bit longer during examination season.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
