Remarks

Some of the most beautiful aspects of the college include the title it holds-'Mecca of Marketing'. The two-year residential program is highly inclusive and not just classroom-based. The campus is yet another icing on the cake. It's amazingly attractive and soothing. There is graffiti art all around the campus. The red bricks building looks like heaven during MICANVAS, MICA's annual fest. The placements and faculty also form the forte of the college. The negative aspects of the college is MICA trying to be a B-School and less of a C-School (Creative School), due to which it is losing its edge in few fields. If a person is not a marketing lover, a true one, It's difficult to survive or grow here. This place is not for fickle-minded people. The location is yet another con.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The faculty-student ratio is 16:1. I chose the course because I want to live to advertise and get the principles of it into my veins. The faculty is well learned and are from various prestigious institutes including foreign universities. The faculty also hold industrial experience. The pedagogy is based on student inclusion and is based on practical aspects of established theories. There are three terms of 12 weeks. There is a mandatory summer internship requirement along with rural immersion programs and MI-Impact.

Internships Opportunities

5

76 companies participated in summer placement. The summer internships are for 8-10 weeks. The average stipend offered was Rs. 98349. The highest stipend offered was Rs. 3,20,00. A total of 2131 students got placed. There has been recorded an increase of 19.78% in the average summer stipend offered. The key recruiters include Lenskart, Swiggy, Grofers, Uber, Nestle, Zee Entertainment, DDB Mudra Group, Citi, ICICI Bank, HUL, Amul, JAWA, Puma etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

The average CTC is around 12.9 lakhs. The sector wherein most students got placed in FMCG. 3 out of 10 bagged a PPO/ PPI. The highest international placement is Rs 58.37 lakhs and domestic being Rs 32. 27 Lakhs. 88 recruiters participated in the final campus placements. Roles offered were Brand management, media analyst, product marketing, digital marketing strategist, data mining, advertisement etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are 21 lakhs. It is inclusive of a residential charge. MICA scholarship is offered is 20 students. The basis of selection is class attendance, academic performance and the family income is less than 10 lakhs per annum. The loans can be sanctioned from a range of banks, for which students can apply at the VidyaLakshmi portal.

Campus Life

5

The campus is very artistic, student-driven and creative looking. I had a lifetime experience here. Case studies from Ivy universities are used in the pedagogy. It has got all amenities- an auditorium, wi-fi enabled campus, canteen and many recreational facilities. The student clubs include SCAM, SANKALP, MICANVAS, TedX MICA, STUDIO 7, MIQUEST, MICOMPASS etc. The student government committee is MCSA. The alumni association is MICAlumni.

Interview Experience

4.5

We had a personal interview and a group exercise. The topic of the group exercise was to create a boardroom and explain the importance of hand sanitizing to primary section kids. It was a fun exercise. We acted, sang and explained a story format to make to look comprehensive and easy. The PI questions included my short term goals, my hobbies, a few questions about the Harry Potter series, a comment on the growth and popularity of OTT platforms and my opinion on Trump-China tensions. The tip to prepare is to stay well-read, read about various ad campaigns of various companies, taglines of companies and a stronghold on idioms would do great.
