Remarks

Vishwakarma government engineering college is a well-known college in Ahmedabad and as well in Gujarat. This college is a temporary campus for IIT Gandhinagar and then IIT Gandhinagar shifted to its permanent campus. I research a lot for government colleges of Gujarat with nice academics so I found this is one the best government colleges in Gujarat.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose power electronics because of the variety. This course provides me variety in a couple of branches. After this course, I have wide options for a master's. There is a total of 12 faculty members for this course. And all the faculty is well educated and very supportive of academic and as well as for extracurricular activities.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 1500 per year

Internships Opportunities

There is a lot of internships you get here. Many companies offer internships and stipend for around 2-3 months of internship. There are many companies that offer you to come and visit power plants and the manufacturing department and learn everything. so internships are available here.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements of vgec get higher year by year which is a good thing. There is a separate placement cell in this college you have.Which trains you for interviews and expertise in your field. There is around 50-60 company visit this college every year for on-campus placements. The highest package is offered is around 27 lakh per annum and avarage package is around 5.3 lakh per annum. The percentage of students getting placed is around 70%.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very simple you have to pay 1500 rupees per year. These are fix fees for all over government engineering colleges in Gujarat. There are many other scholarships are available like,(MYSY), Digital Gujarat &nsp(national scholarship portal. There are high chances for an on-campus job. placement rate is around 75% which is pretty good for government colleges.

Campus Life

4.5

Vgec has a huge campus and an amazing environment around campus. There is a lot of competitions and techfest organized here like, but techfest (Gujarat technological University techfest). If you are a sports lover then many sports competitions and sports events are organized every 2-3 months. The central library of vgec(Vishwakarma government engineering college) is huge is thousands of books are available of every branch&each subject. There is a healthy and nice environment you get on this campus.

The parul university review

Likes

The campus view is awesome we all will see new things everytime and it feels fresh at the morning.
The personal development of particular students have been in focus of every faculty which is awesome.
The behaviour towards students of every professor is the best all are understanding and calm towards students.

Dislikes

There is a system of gate pass means whenever u need to go out of main gate with the permission we are not allowed to go.
In hostel the washrooms are not so clean for the students with common washroom hostel
The mess food are boring sometimes and the food of the food seems to be same everytime

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I have a great interest in coding and this field is based on coding so i choosed the computer field. -The curriculum of the college are based on the things which will help us in future for real world application. -The way they i based on pdf means they make a full note of a subject in pdf and explain that and which makes clear to us so I don't think they should change. -There is a enough time to study for exams it depends on us how me manage it and the difficulty level is medium it is based on what we have understood till now in studies we have studied.

Likes

The collage infrastructure is really good and vibrant, it is well developed.
Campus life is really good, there are food courts, playground, libraries avaliable.
The whole campus has wifi avaliable, they've got atm too.

Dislikes

there are quite a few restrictions like no roaming allowed after 9:30pm.
mess food is not so good, its managable but sometimes it feels miserable
for every small thing to be done, lots of paperwork is required whether you need to go outside the campus or needs a NOC

Placement Experience:

in my unversity, proper placements usually start from 7th sem, however after 4th sem, the collage provides the opputunity to go for impact traning if youve got more than 60% in your 10th, 12th and throughtout the semesters from that traning top permorning student get a chance to sit for product-based companies. as of now (jan 2026), the highest placement recorded is 60lpa at microsoft, the average is aroudn 3.5 lps to 6 lpa, most of the recruiting companies are service based such as capgemini, infosys, tcs etc. around 200-250 students gets palce after heavy filtering, i plan to go for higher studies,
