An Insider's Preview of JUET

Good aspects: A great lush green campus of 150 Acres with state-of-the-art technology. Great faculty with enough experience. Mess food hygienic and healthy. Labs and Classrooms are equipped with the latest technology. Pollution-free and Carbon-free campus. Bad Aspects: The location of the campus is an issue. Travelling to and from the campus can be an issue. Admission process: Online Registration in the month of May. Merit list is issued in June with the names of candidates shortlisted for admission. Shortlisted candidates are then further called for an on-campus registration process in the month of July. July end marks the start of orientations followed by the semester start in August.

I chose CSE because I was interested in technology from my early days of childhood. I used to code in C++, Python, and UNIX Terminal from my early days. I gave in my best so as to further associate myself with computers for an uprising career and future. The faculty-student ratio is 20-300. Most of the faculties are PhD. We also have MTech Graduates teaching to the freshman year. Exams were very timely and to date. Students were updated a week before any of the examinations and the examinations were held in various slots over the course of the day.

Students are eligible for PPOs starting the 6th Semester. On-site joining is allowed during the 8th Semester, 7th Semester is either training or remote operations. Companies visited like Amazon, Google, Bank of New York, Techimax, Icertis, Delhivery, Infosys, HashedIn, Zopsmart Technology, TCS, Testbook, Kuliza, Jaro Education, Planetspark, Shopee Airpay, One Direct, Aditya Birla, Valuefy, Airbus, GradeUp, Hitachi, Samsung, Adani Wilmar, Tata, ExtraMarks, Mapmyindia, JMC Projects, Reliance Jio. The highest Package offered was by Shopee Airpay of 41 LPA. The average Package was 8 LPA.

No hike as such. In fact, fees have been halved during this pandemic period. Semester fees include tuition fees, infrastructure fees, mess charges, and laundry charges. Students need not invest any additional cost in student material. We have LRC and Online Library which can be accessed through the LAN, so students can access these anytime and study. MP Government provides scholarships to the students of MP under CM Meritorious Scholarship. And, also to the minority students. Students of Bihar and UP can also be granted scholarships based on their family financial background.

Annual cultural fest: dEquinox is the annual cultural fest of JUET held in February. dEquinox spans over the course of 3 days. 1st day is DJ Night, 2nd day is EDM Night followed by the 3rd day which is usually the invited guests or band to perform. Annual Tech Fest: Tachyon is the annual technical fest of JUET held in April. Tachyon also expands over the course of 3 days which includes various fun events and sessions. TEDx is also organized at the end of the fest. Various speakers are also invited from Github and Google Developers Group to address the students. Books and Journals: LRC has over 50,000 books and opens for 14hours a day. Timings are 8:30am to 11:00pm. Amenities in Classroom: Lecture theatres are equipped with projectors and whiteboards, LTs are centrally air-conditioned and the temperature is maintained. Sports: We have 2 cricket pitches, 2 basketball courts, and a football ground. Social Group, Clubs: Mozilla Phoenix Club, Google Developers Club and many more.

Rooms are centrally air-conditioned. Rooms have a single bed, study table, and chair, cupboard, shoe rack, and an almirah fitted into the wall. We have separate hostels for each individual year. 1 room has 3 single beds and students have the freedom to choose from 2 occupancy and 1 occupancy rooms. Food is good and the menu changes every month. Chefs are rotated among the 4 messes of each year on a monthly basis. Registration Process: No process, Hostel is included in the overall semester fees. Health Report is submitted during the registration process.

The topics of the Interview are, students were asked questions based on their academic background. Questions based on boards and JEE were asked. In general, questions were very minuscule in terms of educative knowledge but rather focused on the overall personality and upbringing of the students. On-Campus Registration was followed by each student accompanied by their guardian. Each family was allotted a room in the on-campus guest house to stay in during the overall course of registration. Registration lasted for about a week and then orientation was commenced for the freshers. Preparation for rounds: There was no preparation as such necessary for me. Questions were very general as compared to the latter.
