Life changing 2 years at IIM Kozhikode.

I choose this college because I checked the placement records & the placement records were very good. Apart, from that, I also attended the informal session that was taken by the college students before admissions. They told us about the college culture, facilities that are available like the library, Bloomberg terminal. The most I liked that all institute professors are very well educated and have years of experience in their respective fields. The admission process starts at the starting of February or January end of the year, just after when the CAT results are announced. If you are selected on the basis of your CAT percentile, then you would be allotted the date & time of your interview & WAT process. This generally starts from the end of the February months and can go up end of March month, depending on the location of your further processes.

I choose this course because it is the flagship course of the college. It is the very first course that was being offered by the college. Generally, a class has around 60 students on average. However, this does not feel like you are left out of any class. As all the classes have a seat row that is higher than the earlier row. This help maintaining good eye connection with the professor. Also, classes are more than hour-long, so every student has ample time to ask any question & professor also have ample time to answer the query of a high number of students. The teaching method is different for different subjects. Some subjects may entirely contain case-based methodology, some may have lecture style, some classes also contain activity-based sessions; it can be either role-playing or making something in class. A subject can also have mixed of this methodology. They also teach through different movies & their clips.

Every student has to mandatorily complete a summer internship which they get from the summer placement season that happens in the college. Companies from different fields including FMCG, Banking & finance, operations, Marketing & analytics comes in the college. Consulting companies also come.

Finals placements happens at the end of the fifth term i.e in the December end of January starting of 2nd year of college life. However, this time due to pandemic the placement season was little delayed and it happened in the starting week of February. Highest package can reach up to Rs 55 lakhs and average is around Rs 22 lakhs, both of which is yearly CTC. Since it is top institute all the 100% student gets placed in the process.

Fees structure is divided into trimester basis. It means you have to submit fees 3 times in a year. It include course fees as well as mess charges which are different from the course fees. Mess fees are Rs 25,000 per trimester. Also, there are various scholarships available on the basis of merit, financial backward background & also various scholarship for students that did their previous studies from different states.. Also, one does not have to worry about fees because loan is easily available at cheaper rates. College has 100% placement and average CTCis around Rs 22 Lakhs. Social life is very good. First three months is very hectic, like it contain interview to be selected in various groups, Roobaro and clash of titans, then preparing for summer internship, preparing for various case studies, then doing our own course study. So it is very hectic in the starting, but if you get pass the first three months that end with summer internship, then you have relatively easier times ahead. However, even after that certain activities like Blackwater Fest and other cultural committee and sports fest happens. SO the college is very happening whole year.

College does not have separate hostel fees. Hostel fees is already included in the course fees. It is a residential program so one does not have the option to live outside the campus. Hostel facilities are very good. Every day a person comes to clean the room, so one does not have to worry about cleaning the room. Mess food is average. However, there are various kiosk available in the college as well as there is restaurant in the college. SO there is enough variety in the college & one does not have to worry about food as such.

IIM Kozhikode does not take Group Discussion. However, personal interview and written test were taken by the college. Written test had two parts, first, was Written Ability Test (WAT) and there was another written part. First part was essay writing which contained the topic of cybersecurity and second part included the question like "Have you ever showed any leadership quality in the past? explain briefly". Essay part was compulsory for everyone but second part was only for those who had prior experience. I took the coaching as well as I regularly read newspaper and watched various video on YouTube. YouTube video mainly included videos of various CAT coaching institute, as well as video on current affairs.
