NIST COLLEGE REVIEW

I had applied for parala maharaja college. The reason for not attending is lack of faculty and improper functioning of many amenities. I had not availed any quota for admission in college. For getting admission in NIST one has to get atleast 60 in JEE mains examination and should be pass in 10th and intermediate. Admission process was quite obselete. They asked for our documents and mark sheets to submit it physically and were collected by them. Counseling was done through zoom meeting and we were introduced to the principal and faculty. It was a 2-hour program where we were detailed about studies and opportunities we can avail through college.

Cse engineering got an ocean of jobs and opportunities. The important thing is I like coding and computing. The faculty to student ratio is like 4: 10 Faculty's qualifications are unknown and teaching is done through blackboard and help of projector sometimes. Doubts are clarified by the teachers thoroughly. Due to the covid 19 pandemic, the time of term exams were disturbed. The difficulty of the term exams are hard.

I am now doing the internship under prepbytes in the role of campus ambassador. The internship doesn't provide any stipend or commission but provides an experience certificate. The project was to get more and more students to join the online class of java and web development mentorship.

There are enough students getting placements. But according to my knowledge, the placements most students get are of less amount and less lpa per annum. Most probably 80% get placements but only 2-3% of students get a proper job offer. After degree, I am willing to pursue M.tech from a good University.

The fees of college is like 150000 per annum of cse engineering and fees vary for other courses too. Cost to study is not that high but should not be hiked. I didn't get any scholarship or financial assistance. Job is yet to be got by me as I'm in 1st year right now.

The annual fest had been debarred for the last 2 years because of the covid 19 viruses. The library of the college is very big and it is a two-story building. There is the availability of books and books of all genres are present. We are also allowed to issue books for 2 to 4 days. The classroom consists of a blackboard, projector, and chairs, and tables are made of composite. Sports and extracurricular activities are done. There are separate sports and activities clubs. Every year, there happens a sports week for athletes in college. Many groups are being run by our senior students and we are unaware of it because our interaction was less due to covid 19.
