PSIT Kanpur, B.Tech, Computer Science and Engineering

Reviewed on Jun 7, 2021(Enrolled 2020)

Remarks

Admission to PSIT can be taken by two methods - either by UPSEE counseling or through direct admission. The criterion for taken admission in B.Tech is a minimum of 60 percent in class 12th. I took admission through the direct entrance. The college took a test in which general aptitude, science, math, and coding questions were asked. After clearing the test, a Personal Interview of the candidate is taken. The admission process was smoothly conducted.

Course Curriculum Overview

Computer Science Engineering is by its very nature a creative profession. Because we are in a time of rapid technological changes I preferred to choose CS Engineering. There is a very good number of faculty present here. They are very helpful to students also. Most of the faculty members are highly skilled and experienced in their field. Their method of teaching is also very understandable which makes it not so difficult to pass the term exams.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 170000 per year

Placement Experience

3.5

Students become eligible for the placement from the 6th semester onwards. Top recruiters of the College are Infosys, Capgemini, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Wipro. The highest package was 26 LPA and the average package is around 5 LPA. About 70 percent of students are placed in the on-campus placement. I would like to appear in the placement for securing a job for myself.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are quite high in PSIT Kanpur. It is a college affiliated with AKTU and compared to other colleges of AKTU, its fees are a bit high. The fees for CS/IT branch here are around Rs. 1.7 LPA while other branches it's about Rs. 1.4 LPA. College doesn't provide any scholarship or financial aid for anyone. Only the UP Government scholarship program is valid here.

Campus Life

3.5

The annual fest that is conducted in PSIT is IGNITIA: It is the professionalism with the talent to showcase the development. The intense potential of the students is given vent through vibrant cultural activities that create a volcano of entertainment. Books are easily available to every student through the central library. Classrooms are spacious, centrally air-conditioned with projectors equipped in each of them. Sports grounds, GYM, and NCC are also there in the college.

Overall Feedback for College - Admission , Placement , Course , Faculty , Events

Likes

the security is nice at my college like proper cctv and guards , apart from that labs , and my dept is too good. Ac classroom and labs
They have provided average placement like most of companies are mass hiring like tcs and accenture ..and only few companies come to offer big package
Infrastructure is good but there is need of reconstruction at some places the water is ticking in rain season continuously, and curriculum is okay okay not that much relevant to industry , they taught text books rather than the real practical cases

Dislikes

The examination checking - the student who is cr or having any relation with teachers got highest marks without writing the answer properly
The food canteen first of all the canteen is off from the past 1 or 2 year and now it reopen but it sells dirty food , waste foods
The college professor support , they are not that much supportive

Course Curriculum Overview:

coding I am interested in coding that why I offer this course It provide some courses but not all courses are related to real world they have to use practical examples and make students aware of the real industry According to me the time and frequency is okay of exam

College experience as a day scholar

the only reason i choose this college was because i availed fee wavier and our financial condition was not so good back then. I failed to score good marks in JEE advanced or else i would've enrolled in some iit. The college does try to match its pace with tier 1 colleges but there's a lot more to be done. The college has direct as well as counselling based admission. Direct admission include a test and interview while counselling is done on the basis of competitive exam score...Read More

for computer science and engineering you must have given jee main in which your rank should be under 500k and must have more than 75% in maths, physics, chemistry. you can also directly apply for that course; you just have to take the admission test on campus and clear the interview round. The admission test on the campus is based on the basic application of maths physics chemistry as well as aptitude. according to your score, you will be allotted the branch of computer science. admission starts after the first attempt of jee mains. you can apply for college by visiting the campus if you want admission directly or can apply through UPTU counseling. application fees vary from course to course. you can get the reservation benefits from the counseling process, but for direct admission, you can ask for the reservation benefits from the management present on the campus. the admission process is quite easy and fast. you have to be active because the seat gets full within a month or two....Read More
