Remarks

I applied for SRM, VIT, Amity but chose Chandigarh university at last because the admission process was very easy and the placements were very good as for a private college. I didn't avail any quote for admission I just paid Rs10000 for booking the seat after telling the university administration about my grades in boards and jee. The minimum criteria for normal CSE are above 55% and for specialization which I am doing(In Cloud Computing) is 65% and above. One would need 12th cleared for admission and there were no age criteria. The admission process was quite easy just reach their admin block 9.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum has a different amount of subject as according to the semester for eg semester 1 has 10 subjects including labs and sem 4(In which I am) 13 subjects with a minor project. I did choose this course because I was pretty much interested in this field of programming and etc. The faculty is very good and helpful. The teaching method is good with the use of projectors and labs. There is a lot of pressure tho of assignments and there is a total of 2 MST each after 1-1.5 months and final exams covering a total of 3 units with 2 chapters each subject and more. Exam level is not that difficult one can clear those if they study even in class only.

Internships Opportunities

4

As of now, I am in sem 4 I don't know much about. Internships but there are opportunities available to students. College also helps the student to get an internship by helping them from their side by talking to companies overall the experience is good. Companies like Wipro etc provide internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students after sem 5 become eligible for college placements. Many big companies come like google Microsoft amazon etc + number of offers is very great as of 2020 it is around 2000+ and 500+ companies come for placement drives. The highest package offered is 31.55+ lakhs and avg package is around 4.5-5.5 lakhs. Above 90% of students are placed. My plans are to get a job after my degree in a tech company.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no fee hike whatsoever till now. The hostel fee has been increased for new students but the current students will not have to pay the increased fee that is increased by Rs 5000. Scholarships are provided to people who give the CUSAT exam and 12th standard marks and JEE rank. The campus jobs have a very good record.

Campus Life

4

There are lots of fests one can't remember each but there are Tashan nights superstar visits and annual fests. Some are conducted when there are new admission and farewells. The classroom has 4 fans each projector-wide, whiteboards, and lights. There is a sports block for sportspersons and many grounds for playing sports also we can get sports items from college for free for a certain period of time. There are technical societies drama clubs theater etc websites for gaming contests etc also everything available on cuim.

Hostel Facilities

4

In rooms, air blowers are provided in every room. Rooms are of. 3,4,5 people depending on which hostel you choose like NC Zakir and many more every room has 4 LAN ports 4 lights 2fans and a balcony. The meal is okay menu changes every semester and it is very very clean and hygienic. The registration process is also easy you will be allocated the hostel at the time of admission. And AC rooms are also available for People in NC6.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
