Remarks

Since my marks were not so good in JEE mains I was getting biotechnology branch in NIT. But I and my parents wanted to take CSE. Then one day after watching so many reviews about CU on many different sites I decided to visit the CU campus. The campus is about 30 km away from Chandigarh. After reaching When I talked with some of the teachers of the University they have assured me that CHANDIGARH UNIVERSITY had one of the best placement records in North India. And the seats are also limited, they suggested I register as soon as possible. And I finally took admission there. Admission Criteria is quite simple and students don't need so much stuff to get admission here. If u got above 50 percent in 10 and 10+2 then you can easily get admission here. If you passed your board's anyhow and not able to get admission in NIT'S OR IIT'S then relaxed, CHANDIGARH UNIVERSITY is there for you.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

In Chandigarh University, the faculties are very helpful in terms of both academic and personal development. The faculties - students ratio is quite good and enough. For every 50 students of different subjects and departments, they have approx 10 professors. The qualifications of our faculties are very high. There are 3 internals and 1 external exam conducted in every semester and it's quite easy to pass in the external exam and If you study sincerely you can score good marks also in internal exams.

Class Size: 55Course Fees: INR 120000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are around 90k to 1 lac per year that Is not so high and common in many other private colleges. They provide fees scholarship based on 12th marks. And for the scholarship, you have maintained above 85 percent marks in college for eligibility. They also conduct a scheme called "CU-SAT". Through this they helping many students by providing scholarship to them.

Campus Life

4.5

Every year lots of events and fests are conducted in our college. Mainly they are conducted when there where new batch arrives or farewell. All classroom are wide and have full of space with proper lights and fans. A projector and whiteboard are available in each classroom. There are many grounds for playing sports and a separate block for sportspersons. Our college also provides students sports items for free For certain time periods. There are many club's and tech society's present in our college by which students can enhance them by choosing their own fields of interests and clubs.

The placemnets in the university starts from the 3 year only. companies comes in the 3rd year, students= can give interviews in this year, and they can get the NOC. wich means you can go for the job or the iinternship and there is no need to take the classes, because you are taking the indyustry level experience in the prior basis also.

Likes

campus life is absolutely banger and it is great to have friends here
crowd is bonkers , except some local peeps , they'd be behaving weird
major events like freshers and orientation , they bring crazzy artists

Dislikes

hectic schedules drain the soul of you .
frequent exams test that are totally unnecesary
attendance is another nuisance , having 75 percent is must

Placement Experience:

placements of 2.8 cr occured but it was only one , most of the placements packages go under 8 lpa and extra fees has to be paid in order to be eligible for placement drives and that too doen't ensure the placement

A TOUR TO CGC LANDRAN

Likes

Events are more frequent here and most of the stars from punjabi industry are called more often for film promotions
No ragging is there infact seniors are friendly and try to help juniors
TPP (training and placement program) is provided that help students to crack placements

Dislikes

Attendance criteria (minimum 75 % is essential to maintain to be eligible to give exams)
Class timings are fixed from 9:15 to 4:35 and you can not enter in between 10 to 12:00 PM as gates are closed for this duration
Strength is rapidly increasing as new courses are introduced which increases competition during placements

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent, from 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement students need to enroll in TPP(Training and placement program) in order to get eligible for campus placement, Many companies visit our campus for eg Capgemini, LNT, ZSCALER, EDIFECS, AMAZON, PWC, WATCHGUARD TECHNOLOGIES etc overall above 200 offerrs are made to our senior batch with the highest package of 32LPA and average package of around 4.5LPA. more than 60% of students get placed . I am also sitting for campus placement and wish to get placed soon

College Life is Fun, Various activities and events happen in and around college, you got to know about others and crowd is also decent, Mostly Students are from northern regions that is Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand .
Teachers are good and placement coordinators also help students to get good package on campus. a decent package can be bagged by a student if he/she seriously study and obtain a decent CGPA in exam. Make sure you clear all exams till 8th semester.
Infrastructure Is also good, laboratories are fitted with new desktops and campus size is also decent, Tuck shops and various Canteens are available inside the campus. Also Central Library is there inside the campus where students can study in exam t

Dislikes

The curriculum for 1st and 2nd semester is purely based on subjects that you studied in 11th and 12th, the advance versions of those topics are there in 1st and 2nd semester which make it difficult for students to get good grades.
The placement in other branches like Mechanical, electrical is mere, and one can face difficult in getting on campus placement if he/she belongs to these streams. Also Lack of practical knowledge is there in these streams, Theory is more focused.
If one opt for hostels, then the hostel facilities are not as good as it should be , the mess food is pathetic and one can face difficulty if he/she opt for hostel, also campartively hostel fees are also very high, whereas nearby Pg's are cheaper

Placement Experience:

placement is good in our college. Aveage package is 400000, and average package for cse stream is approx 500000. Various companies like alstom, infosys, accenture, TCS, Wipro, amazon, Walmart, JP Morgan chase and co. etc visit campus every year and recruit students. Approx 300+ companies visit campus and above 80% of cse students are placed but In other streams like ECE.EE and ME etc placements are campartively lower and students face difficulty in order to get placed. MY plan is job oriented i also want to get placed on campus and hope so i will get placed in a good company.
