PSIT Kanpur, B.Tech, Computer Science and Engineering

Reviewed on Jun 15, 2021(Enrolled 2020)

Remarks

I applied for a b.tech course at PSIT because it is a well-known college in my hometown with the good learning environment. I got admitted to this college through upsee ( rank16528 ) in Computer Science and Engineering with specialization in the internet of things. So, the criteria for admission is you must have secured atleast 76%in 12th standard or UPSEE rank under 22000 for the CSE course.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because of my interest in this field. The faculty at PSIT is experienced, highly qualified, and motivates students to put best of their efforts. The teaching method in the college is good. Even in pandemic situations college has successfully conducted online classes. Term exams are conducted every 10 to 15 days. A student who is paying attention in the class and is hardworking can easily pass all the exams.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 175000 per year

Internships Opportunities

As I am a first-year student so I don't have much knowledge about internships and projects. But I get to know about it by my seniors that internships are mainly offered by INFOSYS, TCS, etc. Some students also get a chance to do internships in IIT Kanpur.

Placement Experience

From the sixth semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Top MNCs visit the college for placements which include INFOSYS, TCS, IBM , WIPRO, WABAG , COGNIZANT, CAPGEMINI, and many more. The highest salary offered was 26 lakhs per annum and the average salary offered was 3.8 lakhs per annum. Almost 98% of students got placed last year .

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of the college are Rs.175000 per annum and hostel fees of Rs. 72000 per annum College also provides AC bus facilities at the amount of Rs. 36000 per annum. College provides various opportunities for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus jobs. So yes it's the value for money.

Campus Life

PSIT organizes various fests such as IGNITIA, WAVES, FOOTPRINTS (SPORTS EVENT), parampara. The college has full-stacked libraries which are well connected with 24*7 internet access. Classes are well well furnished having smart boards and internet access. The sports arena at PSIT includes Basketball, FOOTBALL, Volleyball, Badminton, Athletics, and various indoor games as well. There are various clubs including a sports club, digital-marketing club, entrepreneurship club, quiz club, theater club, music club, dance club, and many more for students to showcase their talent in the field of their interest.

Overall Feedback for College - Admission , Placement , Course , Faculty , Events

Likes

the security is nice at my college like proper cctv and guards , apart from that labs , and my dept is too good. Ac classroom and labs
They have provided average placement like most of companies are mass hiring like tcs and accenture ..and only few companies come to offer big package
Infrastructure is good but there is need of reconstruction at some places the water is ticking in rain season continuously, and curriculum is okay okay not that much relevant to industry , they taught text books rather than the real practical cases

Dislikes

The examination checking - the student who is cr or having any relation with teachers got highest marks without writing the answer properly
The food canteen first of all the canteen is off from the past 1 or 2 year and now it reopen but it sells dirty food , waste foods
The college professor support , they are not that much supportive

Course Curriculum Overview:

coding I am interested in coding that why I offer this course It provide some courses but not all courses are related to real world they have to use practical examples and make students aware of the real industry According to me the time and frequency is okay of exam

I failed to score good marks in JEE advanced or else i would've enrolled in some iit. The college does try to match its pace with tier 1 colleges but there's a lot more to be done. The college has direct as well as counselling based admission. Direct admission include a test and interview while counselling is done on the basis of competitive exam score...Read More
