A Review by 3rd Year Student

There is a central admission process taken by Gujarat University, everything is online except taking a pin from the college, which is available at any near college of your area which comes under Gujarat University, then you have to fill online form for the admission, usually, there are 3 rounds for the admission, I got admission in the first round as I have good marks in 12th Board, There is only one college in the entire Gujarat University for the MScIT, so its merit is quite high. Merit for 2019-20 is 80% minimum and for 2020-21 is 82% for general category, I fall in general category so I didn't avail any quota.

Software Engineering has a great career in near future as all go technical with time, that's why I chose this course. There is a 1:60 ratio for the faculty and students. all faculties are so supportive. Almost all faculty have Phd degrees and double graduate with good teaching experience, I like their teaching method. Term exams come once in 3 months, it is difficult to pass them.

My college offers internships for social works on their own, you can apply for them when you come in 2nd and 3rd year, mostly they are free, you will not get paid for them. you will learn leadership skills, teamwork and other social skills in that. Also, some companies come to the college for the internship which is mostly on web development. You are likely to do coding in HTML, CSS and javascript also in PHP and react. These companies offer nearly 4000 to 5000 rs per month stipend.

Students become eligible for placement from the 9th sem, which is their final year in college. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Reliance, eclinical works, Loadstone, Musikar offer placement in the College. Students had given the highest 8 LPA package and on average, they get 3 to 4 LPA. Almost 30% to 40% of students get the placement. I am thinking of taking placement at the college. If I dont get it, I will apply on my own.

Fees for one year is 18,100 which is likely to hike to 20,000 in the next 2 or 3 years, overall it total cost 1,00,000 for 5 years of studying. general category students get scholarships of 7,100 every year, which is almost half of the fees and other category students get scholarships of 9,000 every year.

We have 3 main events, advent, techno mantra and tornado. This event conducts in the month of January. My college has a rich set of books, there are more than 4000+ books in the library and you can find more than 10 different newspapers to read daily also there are so many magazines.
