HNBGU Entrance exam. I scored a total marks of 65 out of 100 and then was eligible for counselling. The reason to opt for this college was the latest course that was available only in this university(as told by our HOD). And we were also told that this university is the best one for pursuing Environmental Sciences Master degree.

The course have been updated recently and nothing neat came as only a shuffle was done in the course. the curse is of no match with JNU or i can say that its good if you need only a degree. There is a issue of availing the syllabus on the website. No focus is being done to improve the quality education, infrastructure of the department.

Somehow, the dept will allow to let you go for internship and no such thing is provided from college. And the faculty also do not provide any knowledge for such thing happening around.

Even though, The campus of different department through many events like Engineering Day, Tourism day etc. Our dept also celebrates many environmental events like ozone day, environment day etc. You need to be aware of these days to celebrate them yourself. Its all mess sometimes here.

Fee-structure is something that i m even not understanding. There is a regular seat with a small amount of fee of only about 4 K bucks.

One good thing is that a student that tops the department gets a scholarship of Rs 30000 per month but only if the student wants to pursue research from the same university.

Campus life is great. The campus lies on the banks of Alaknanda river. the landscape is beautiful. There is not such illegal activities or disturbances and both boys and girls enjoy with each other. No issues are seen as for now. Labs in our dept have equipment but till now, not us, not even our seniors have got the privilege to use them. You have to work in lab on paper and pen only.

Hostel rates are very cheap at Rs 2700-3000 per year and mess at bout 2500-2800 per month. Mess services sometimes are is total mess but now a days, The food have been improved. There is one issue that girls are not allowed to leave the hostel after just 5 PM .

Exam Structure is good. The pattern is semester wise. You have to give 2 internals and each internal consist 20 marks. The semesters generally occur in December for first and third semester. You have to go to Birla Campus to give Semesters. Internals take place in the chauras campus in the departments. practicals also take place but do not expect someone to teach you the practicals. Marks will be given for a small effort.

After the entrance exam, that took around in june, we got the result after a long wait of 2 months. The merit list was prepared and a date was provided for counselling. Please note that counselling takes 2 days. On first day, student have to submit the documents only and after that, a list id prepared on the basis of the students present on that day.
