Remarks
I applied to Chandigarh University only through their official website and registered for my course i.e Bachelor of Engineering (Information Technology). There are no age criteria if a gap certificate is available. The marks are not much of a criterion if you have qualified for your previous course (10+2 or diploma). The admission process was quite organized, we visited the campus after registration in the course with 50% scholarship for 70%+ marks in 10+2. We were very well informed about the course-related and placement-related doubts by the counselor that day. We also visited the hostel as it was to stay in the hostel. After we were all satisfied we paid the remaining fees.
Course Curriculum Overview
Some teachers are inexperienced but experienced teachers are also present in each department. The faculty: student ratio is 1:40. It depends on your luck who you get to teach you. Teachers are helpful and well-qualified. Teachers provide good quality and quantity of study material and resources which will definitely help in your exams but if you want to crack any competitive exams then you must give your efforts separately else join some corresponding paid classes in the campus itself. Exams happen during the semester and with two mid-semester exams passing the exam is quite easy.
Internships Opportunities
There are approx. 300 companies visited our university and give the job to the students as a post of sakes executive, sales manager, financial manager etc. They take interview of thw students in different phase and make the students get the job.
Placement Experience
Placements begin from the 6th semester as far as I know. 100+ companies visited last year with 1000+ offers. Major recruiters were TCS, Capgemini, and Wipro. The highest and average packages were 30 lac p.a and 2.54 lac p.a respectively. Nearly 60% of students get placed. My plan is to make me capable of being placed from the campus itself.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are 160000 annually excluding hostel charges which are 82000 I have a 50% scholarship with 70%+ marks in 10+2. Fees are not hiked for the particular batch i.e we have to pay the same fees for a 4-year course. I am still pursuing the course so it will be difficult to tell about the scholarship but seniors say it is good than other colleges.
Campus Life
High-class infrastructure with well-equipped labs and classrooms. 100-acre campus. Library in each academic block. In-campus free Wi-Fi is also available. Separated hostel facilities for both boys and girls with well-ventilated rooms and good quality of food. Very well-planned infrastructure. Good medical and sports facilities within the campus itself. Fests and events happen frequently. There are many clubs which you can join
Hostel Facilities
The room is well-ventilated with a cooler. Each room has 4 beds, 4 study tables, and a balcony. The rooms are not that big nor that small. There is a well-planned menu with different varieties of food offered in the week. The meal is weekly i.e every meal of the week is different. Registration of the hostel happens at the same time as you get admitted. The hostel is not allotted in the middle of any academic year so better to choose early. I lived in pitra Hostels i.e himaklona.
