Remarks

I choose Punjab engineering and technology because my elder brother studied there and get a placement on campus. I get direct admission to this college, so my experience was great. I got 75% marks after completing my degree.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose the electronics and communication branch because I like this branch from 10th and I decide to choose this branch. Faculty members are quite good and overall 60 students available in my branch. Teachers are not as good about their knowledge but some are very helpful on campus. Some subjects are easy and subjects are hard in my branch but I clear all subjects and get good marks.

Internships Opportunities

I get an internship in reliance jio and my role are there to check 4g connectivity there in the Digi machine. I check their wires are fitted properly or not. And also labelled the wire with their names so if others engineers come for repairing they get proper wires with their name. I get 4g projects at that time so I installed almost 200 Digi boxes near 4g towers.

Placement Experience

In 7th semesters students are eligible for campus placement. Some good companies visited in my campus like Infosys, IBM, l&t, Mahindra, Accenture etc, percentage of selection is very poor only 10% of students are selected through campus placement. I plan to get the best job in the best company.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure are like I pay my semester fee that is approx 60000 and hostel fee are 40000 per semester. I get the scholarship in reliance jio and my experience was so good. And I am not selected for the job on campus, I was selected for the job outside the campus and currently, I am in a good position.

Campus Life

There is only a fest held in my college that is the fresher party which was very good. In my library, I get all books that I need, so I haven't found any problems in my library. In my 4 year journey only 1 time sports festival occurs in my college but due to my leg injury, I did not participate in that. Only Facebook group of my friend I joined.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms are quite good, they give 3 beds in a single room for 3 candidates. But overall the hostel room experience was so good because I made many good friends in my college. The hostel meal was very bad. I always eat outside the campus. After third year I sifted in pg which is near the college. Pg was very good rooms are clear. So I enjoyed my hostel and pg life well.

Hostel Fee: INR 80000 per year

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
