A journey worth sharing

I had applied for Thapar University, Galgotia and some other too but JIIT is the best among all so I got admission there. I am a general candidate. There are mainly 4 colleges of JAYPEE across India, namely Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida (main campus 62+128), Jaypee University of information technology, Solan, HP, Jaypee Guna and then Jaypee anoopshahr. Candidates are called for counseling according to their rank in 4 different colleges. One can get a branch in Noida campus (if available) while counselling at Solan campus. So I was called at Solan campus and I got ECE in Noida campus.

There are 3 written exams namely Term paper 1 of 20 marks per subject, Term paper 2 of again 20 marks per subject and Term paper 3 of 35 marks. All exam marks are added to 75 out of which nearly 15 would pass anyone even though grades are relative. As it is a deemed university all exams are internal but I can say surely one has to fight to earn even a single mark. The questions are really tough and it is very hard for students to maintain 8 and more CGPA. Along with this lab, practical exams will continue side by side. But all these exams will make you strong to deal with the worst situations. From the 5th semester onwards projects will be started and students have to give two presentations and Vivas in a semester.

From the 6th semester onwards placements start and mainly students get placed in mass recruiters like Infosys, Cognizant, DXC etc. Nearly 4 lakh packages but there are many students who get packages as high as 40-50 lakhs too. It all depends on the candidates. For the Computer Science department, there is a huge pool of companies visiting and one can easily get a job of around 7-10 lakh average package. There is very less number of companies visiting for electronics students. I myself want to pursue a higher degree so I am out of placements.

They provide some financial assistance to students from backward communities. But I am not pretty sure how successful that assistance is. Definitely, this college demands a high fee but all that is worth spending as the highest package of this college is nearly 42-52 lakhs almost every year. Around 30-32 students got 31 lakh package from Amazon this year.

There are many social groups like fortissimo for music and singing. There are fashion societies to robotics groups. There is no limitation on student groups, one has to register If he/she wants to open a new society.
