Remarks
I applied through the official website of Chandigarh University by paying Rs 10000 registration fees and submitted the required documents online for scholarship on the basis of marks obtained in the 12th class. The admission criteria, as far as I know is 45% and age should not be a factor as long as you have the corresponding gap certificate.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are a lot of experienced teachers in every department but experienced teachers are also there. It depends on your luck who teaches your section. Student to faculty ratio is 40:1. Teachers are well-qualified. They provide good quality of study material that will definitely help you in the final exams. There are two mid-semester exams and one end-semester examination each semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
My semester fees are Rs 80000 plus Rs 2000 examination fees but I have a 50% scholarship on the basis of class 10+2 marks (96% marks). Fees are not hiked for the duration of your stay in the course i.e you pay the same fees in each semester as the first semester.
Campus Life
The 100-acre infrastructure is well-planned. The campus looks stunning. The social life is quite satisfying. There are a lot of fests organized throughout the months of each year. An annual cultural fest is also organized. There are libraries in every academic blocks. Each classroom has its own projector and is well-equipped with corresponding equipment. Top-notch labs are also present at every floor. Sports activities also take place frequently. Many social groups and clubs are present which students can join anytime according to their interests.
Hostel Facilities
I live in the NC-1 building of Nek Chand Hostels. Each room has 4 beds, 4 study tables, 2 fans, 1 cooler vent and 1 balcony. The menu is repeated on a weekly basis and every meal of the week is different. The menu is changed after 2 months. Food quality is quite good as compared to what you will expect. The registration for the hostel is done at the same time as your admission and you can choose a hostel at the start of your academic year only.
