Remarks
I applied through the official website of Chandigarh University by paying the registration fees of Rs. 10000. It was easy to register for the course as I was eligible. Moreover I got 50% scholarship on the basis of 12th class marks in CBSE. As far as I know, there is no criteria of minimum marks but you should be qualified in your previous course. Age is not a factor as long as you have the gap certificate for the corresponding years.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is according to the latest requirements and is updated year to year according to the needs. There are a lot of experienced teachers present in each department. But that does mean there are inexperinced teachers also present in every department. I chose IT because I was always interested in programming languages. The student to faculty ratio is nearly 50:1. The teachers are well-qualified for the job. They provide good quality and quantity of study material that will definitely help you in your final and other examinations. There are two mid-semester and one end-semester examination every 6 months but that are quite easy to qualify for average students also.
Fees and Financial Aid
The semester fee is Rs. 80000. Plus there is Rs. 2000 examination fees also. The hostel fees is Rs. 90000 nealy per year. But the fees is not hiked year. There is no fees hike policy for the duration of your course i.e. you pay the same semester fees for you first and last semesters. The scholarship is mainly awarded on the basis of 12th class marks but there are many other scholarship schemes also. You have to refer to college for the scholarships. I personally have 50% scholarship on the basis of class 12th marks (96% marks).
Campus Life
There are a lot of extracurricular activities organized throughout the months of each year. There are many competitions of every type also organized on a regular basis. There are plenty of books in libraries that are present in every academic block. Each classroom is well-equipped with corresponding amenities for a good study environment. The 100-acre is top-notch. The labs are well-equipped with modern equipment. There are many social clubs and groups which the students can join according to their interests.
