Remarks

I applied for many other colleges like Thapar University , VIT, but I was not getting admission in course of choice. I was always interested in computer science engineering but at Thapar University and VIT, I was not able to get admission to CSE. So I decided to try Chandigarh university and luckily I got selected in CU in CSE. The admission criteria are minimum 70% in physics, chemistry, and maths, in the 12th class.

I chose BTech in Computer Science Engineering(CSE) because I like computers, gaming, and technology a lot. These things fascinate me a lot. And placement record of Chandigarh university is quite good. My university's faculty is good too. All teachers are highly qualified and they are quite experienced. Their methods of teaching are also good and up to date. They help the students a lot. Exams take place monthly and exams are tough.

Yes, Chandigarh University provides internships in the 3rd year. And if we want to work in some external companies, the college also provides us with NOC(no objection certificate). But no stipend is offered to students.

Placement Experience

Our college has a very good placement record. It offers 94% placements. 700+ companies offer jobs to more than 5000 students. The highest package offered is 37lakh and the average package is 5 lakh. After the 4th semester, we can apply for internships through university and after the 7th semester, we become eligible for jobs. I also want to get placement through my university after getting degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

BTech Computer Science Engineering(CSE) at Chandigarh University is quite expensive. It costs 80000 per semester. There is a total of 8 semesters which makes it a total of 640000 in 4 years. Other than this for students who opt for hostels have to pay 80000-100000 per year depending on the hostel they opt for. But there is a scholarship exam called CUCET and scoring good marks in this exam help students financially a lot.

Campus Life

Chandigarh University's campus is amazing. The campus is quite big. There are different buildings/blocks for each department. Classes are big and spacious. Each department has its own library. Students can avail all the books for free in the library. There are a lot of food and fun places for people inside the campus. Chandigarh University is mainly famous for sports. University has its own stadium for sports students.

Hostel Facilities

There are a large number of hostels for boys and girls. Our college has a hostel facility for more than 30000 students inside the campus. Our hostel provides a lot of facilities. 3 meals a day plus snack meal also in the evening. Food quality is good and tasty also. The registration process is easy. We just have to contact the college hostel department to allot a hostel room to us. Our college has a hostel that is divided into 3 names LC, NC, and Zakir. LC and NC have 3 and 4 seaters rooms. Zakir has 5 seater rooms. Hostels are fully guarded and safe for students.

Hostel Fee: INR 90000 per year

Likes

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Dislikes

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

The Scholarship benefit is good when compared to other universities the fee is also not very huge.The Infrastructure of the campus was vast and there arelots of stall to purchase food items etc
There is a big mall through which You can get necessary items .In every hostel you will have departmental stores
The faculty was highly qualified. The Placements opportunities are also good The average was offered was 5-6 LPA.The Lpu newly Launched Education Revolution is very good for students

Dislikes

The mandatory 75% attendance policy for every subject.If you not maintain you will debar from End term examinations which is not all good
The Roads are not that much good .The roads are made of parking tiles instead of Thar
The distance between hostels and main gates are nearly 1.5 -2 km which not at all good .but there e-rickshaw they charge 15 rupees per person to drop from hostel to main gate

The course cirriculum changes every year by rapid changes happening due to AI The University has also launched a new school called School of AI and emerging technologies.from this every year syllabus changesand exams pattern changes .the difficulty of exams is increasing day by day.

Likes

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts
Skilled professional educators and tutors

Dislikes

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements and tata or Infosys companies visited and about 60 to 70 percent students were placed and my plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies doing mtech from iit

I like the machines that's why I choose the mechanical branch in engineering line. Noida , Gurgoan , Chandigarh , Bengluru and many other areas for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching methods.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late
Great mentors and very helpful teachers who are always willing to help

The hectic schedule and curriculum that the students have to follow.
The lack of certain facilities that would help the students improve thoer personalities
Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum

I applied to multiple colleges like SRM Chennai, VIT vellore, and Lovely Professional University(LPU). I got confirmed admisison from all of them. I choose this university cause of the low fees and it is near to the place where I live. Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

I gave cucet but can't find the college that have cse in their colleges. That time my father was recently posted in chandigarh as chandigarh university was very close to me and the transport is also easy and I don't have to pay the hostel fees and I can be a day scholar also so I choosed this college as it provide a good network of peoples. The admission process was to simple ,I just applied for their entrance online exam cucet and booked a slot gave online test of 100 mcq from the selected domain and after that I got scholarship and to confirm my seat I have to pay 10000 part of my semester fees (that 10000 was from my semester fees) and after doing online formalities and upload document.
