Remarks
The admission process was quite simple. They just asked for my certificates and I submitted them after clearing their entrance test. I applied only to Chandigarh University. I availed of a scholarship quota which is a 10% waiver in overall fees as my father is in defence. The admission criteria are quite simple you just need to have more than 60% in your PCM.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course because I am very much into web development which is a part of computer science. The faculty student ratio is quite good it's 1:20 as there is one mentor assigned to every 20 students. The high post faculties are well qualified and the junior faculties are mostly the pass outs of our college. The term exams were conducted very well so that no one can cheat as all of the tests were MCQ based and was held on amcat where our every moment is captured with the access of our video camera and microphone.
Internships Opportunities
There are so many companies that are recruiting from the college like arcesium ( which hired a student for 36lpa this year) them many esteemed companies like Google, Microsoft, Jp Morgan, Deloitte, Hp,etc. The roles offered are rnd developers, branding, sales and marketing, etc.
Placement Experience
The percentage of students getting placed is quite high in cs department it is around 70 as most of the companies come for its jobs but the percentage goes down for other branches. I have a plan of writing a gate exam for getting into IIT for my master's or getting a PSU.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no such fees hike once you have taken the admission for the rest of your college life. There's a fees hike for the students who join the following year. I availed the defence scholarship as my father is in defence. I had a 10% wavier from my total fees.
Campus Life
Everything is available on campus you can find all the books you are looking for in the library/e-library with all the resources. Classrooms are well equipped with projectors smartboards. Something or the other is happening all the time on campus. Hts, dsw are some of the student driven clubs.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms depend on the fees you are paying if you are able to pay 1,30,000 you can have a personal room with ac but I preferred the one with no ac and 4 seats and it is costing me around 90000. The menu is vast and the food is good. You can register through mail or you can go and check out the rooms on campus and book there it is quite simple.
