Remarks

Pros: Quite economical fee structure. College Bus facilities Good infrastructure Cleanliness Cons:Cranky faculties. No CCA at times. Certain stupid rules. VTU based.

Entrance Preview

Karnataka C. E. T, 36524. Didn't particularly opt for this college. In the optional entry, only a few were left out. So, had to choose this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The college offers various degree programs. In engineering, they offer, Computer science, Information science, Electronics and communication, Mechanical and Civil engineering. The college is affiliated under VTU. Therefore, all the curriculum is decided by VTU and not the college.

Internships Opportunities

No internships are provided by the college. If you're willing to do any internships, the college will refer websites where you may or may not find appropriate ones.

Placement Experience

2

The college provides job oppurtunites. But, only to the students who has secured an aggregate of 70% over 8 semesters. Not to forget, only BPO jobs are provided to majority of the engineers through the college who offer 1. 44LPA-2LPA. Also, if you are a average student (50%-70%), you will have to wait for more than a year.

College Events

2.5

Events!! This is what a current student of TJIT would ask you if you talk about events. The HODs have made it as academics centered one. Although the dept fests etc do exist but, we cant go participate in that. The last time we participated in some sport was almost a year ago.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure depends on whether if you're through CET or management. through CET it is roughly 55000 a year and, through managements costs a lakh for a year and they're subject to change. The fee includes Exam fee too, only the students who have some back papers need to pay extra and that fee amount is decided by VTU. It is quite affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college on it's own doesn't provide and loan programs or concessions. However, for minority students, the scholarships are provided. The scholarships gets you back almost 50% of the fee amount. But, only minority caste students and special category can opt for the scholarships.

Campus Life

4

Well, the moment you see this college for the first time, you would be on cloud 9, because finally you're going to do Engineering or your Bachelors. Eventually you'll want to dig yourself to the deepest point where no one can find you. Labs are well equipped. Play grounds where no one plays. Gender ratio are almost near to equal figures. People from various states come and countries too. Code of ethics are fine.

Hostel Facilities

3

Although never opted for hostel, we do hear about them. The hostel facilities are good enough for a student. The fee is dependent on the number of people sharing the room. The more number of people, the less the fees. The Mess food is hygienic but not completely edible at times. Mess owners are contract based. Fe of them are good and few are quite opposite.

Alumni/Alumna

None, no one of the alumis turn up to the college once the course is over. Seniors do help if you ask them. No one would voulanteerly come and help you out. No can actually be decided as a Junior or Senior. VTU's yearback scheme to be blamed for.

Exam Structure

Well, there are internals tests and the external exams. Internal tests are conducted by the college itself and 2 subjects in a day is what the schedule they've made. 2-3 units in each subject is what a student has to study. It is hectic at certain times.

Faculty

1

On average, i would give 4 on a rating scale of 10. Only minority of the faculties are good and fit for the teaching profession. Rest don't even know the concepts properly. The faculty implements rules which are stupid at certain times. Few of which are, submitting leave letters for each and every hour of class if you're absent for the previous one. No Attendance for the entire day even if you're absent by a single minute.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Highest package offered for a chemical engineering is 600000 I guess this aslo a long back. But dont take a hope on placements here in chemical weapons. Do mainly focus on Gate exam.
