Gitam Admission Test(GAT) is the exam to attended to seek the admission into GITAM university. I chose Mechanical engineering department because I'm a great fan of it since my intermediate days. It is the master of other departments and has a lot to learn about.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was good but not up to the standard of our prestigious IIT'S. Has to improve it's curriculum and special care should be taken in practical learning techniques. The syllabus as well as the curriculum is going to be changed from the next academic year. So GITAM university would be a great option for quality education as well as practical and industrial learning techniques.
Internships Opportunities
My college doesn't provide any internship. Internship should be done outside the college in prestigious companies.
Placement Experience
They provide almost 100% placement for the students who are willing to take job. However students eyeing for higher education like GRE and IELTS are not allowed to attend the placements. Many leading companies attend our college to take us into their companies. The pay scale even is very good.
College Events
There are a lot of technical, cultural, management festivals conducted in our college apart from the festivals conducted individually by the respective departments. Our college has a student activity centre which motivates the student to concentrate not only in education but also the extra curricular activities such as sports, dance, debates etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Coming to the fee structure it is a bit expensive. The fee for the current academic year tallies to RS.2,20,000/- per year. But it sums up to the facilities provided here such as a huge playground, an indoor stadium, gym, open auditorium. Every student in the college premises has access to an unlimited high speed Wi-Fi connection which is totally free of cost.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, They actually provide scholarship for the merit students. We should apply in order to get the scholarship. But no loan is provided by the college. We may take it outside and they'll accept it.
Hostel Facilities
Well, there are 5 separate hostels for boys and girls. Again they are divided for juniors and seniors in order to avoid any mischief or ragging. Mess is the best of it's class. It has a seating capacity of almost 3000 people at a single time. The food is good and lot of care is taken in the preparation.
Exam Structure
The exams and labs are conducted frequently on the continuous evaluation basis. They help in monitoring the progress of the individual student. Labs are conducted weekly and an exam is conducted finally and scores are allotted based on our performance. In the same way exams are conducted in 2 steps internals and externals.
Faculty
GITAM university comprises of over 5000 faculty members spread across branches in the Visakhapatnam campus. Each of them are highly qualified. They make sure that every student is up to mark and special care will be taken on the students whose performance is below par.
