True Experience

Well, first I applied for SRM Institute of Science and Technology, but due to covid situation it was not allowed to conduct it's admission exam and eventually my 12th marks were not enough for admission due to a lot of competiton. But I did not lose hope and I got to know about the chandigarh university. One of the reasons that I took admission in CU was it was near my home town. But that was not the big thing , CU provides you a great scholarship on every basis. Like defence concession, scholarship based on 12th marks (upto 70-80%), jee main marks (upto 70-80%), jee advanced marks (upto 70-80%) and many more . Even in the test CUCET(Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test), following is the scholarship criteria : Marks Scholarship 90.01-100 100% 80-90 50% 70-79.99 40% 60-69.99 30% 50-59.99 25% 40-49.99 15% I got the scholarship on the defence basis. I got concession of Rs.8000. Admission process is quite simple.

I liked computer science in 11th and 12th and I realised that I was quite good at that too. So I just had to find a university which will satisfy all my needs and provide a good scholarship. And than I took admission in CU. There are a lot of teachers in CU and it provides a faculty:student ratio of 1:14, leading to 85% student satisfaction. Qualificaton of the faculty varies with every individual. Everything based on experience. But the teaching is okay. Depends from teacher to teacher on their experience. And the university also tries that no lecture should get wasted. they always conduct a make up class or teacher. It conducts MST's every month and the middle term and final exam. practicals are only with mid term and final. If you study well, then exams are okay to pass.

There will be many internship opportunities. But as of now, according to my experience and the whole online situation there is not much to provide. But still there are many courses and hackathons codechef and many more platforms in the online classes to increase the experience.

From the 7th semester students becomes eligible for campus placements. Highest package offered in the session 2020-21 was 7412 (placement offers) 20 Lakhs (Package offered by 15+ companies) 15 Lakhs (Package offered by 30+ companies) 10 Lakhs (Package offered by 70+ companies) 5 Lakhs (Package offered by 290+ companies) 36 Lakhs (HIGHEST PACKAGE OFFERD), Percentage of students getting placement in CU is 85% every year. After getting my degree, if will pass with good marks and get a good package than I will join some company and if not I will prefer to do MBA.

There are different amount of fees for different courses. In my case it was Rs. 80000 per semester for BE(CSE). And I got consession of Rs.8000 because my father is in army. But it also provides scholarships on many basis. On the basis of marks in 12th , jee mains, jee advance and many more. It also conducts a university test that is CUCET, and it's scholarship criteria is : Marks Scholarship 90.01-100 100% 80-80 50% 70-79.99 40% 60-69.99 30% 50-59.99 25% 40-49.99 15% Any student aspiring to pursue UG&PG courses at chandigarh university can avail this financial aid through an online applicaton. It also offers internships during the college so that you can earn money while doing your studies.

As I am in studying in online mode from the day I got admission , I am unable to see all the offline or on campus activities of the university . But as we see on the social media or the official sites of the university, it shows that It has a annual fest. And recently university conductes and online tech fest, it was techinvent, and it conducted a lot of events in that. Libraries are really great with every kind of book you need. Even in the online mode university focuses on sports and fitness. and therefore conducts several competitions online. And rest I guess I will get to know in the offline mode.
