Entrance Preview

I opted for IIT-JEE but could not get a good score. I scored 146 in my JEE exam which was not sufficient to have IITS or the NIT's . So in accordance to that this was the best place that can suit as a student for a good environment and studies. I chose computer science because it is the best field for a student to work on if you are a student of Chandigarh University.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Computer science course is the best one that you can opt in this university.more than 50% of the visiting companies belong to this category. CSE placements are over a whooping 80%. Good availability of faculty as well as the resources are available for the CSE students. Regular guidance as well as tests are conducted for better performance of the students.

Internships Opportunities

College has a good facility of providing internships at various companies such as tech mahindra, smartprix, Infosys and various others. The stipend varies from 10 to 50k based on student's performance in the qualifying rounds of tests and interviews. Talking of experience it is always good to have good support staff over you for such purposes which is very well provided by the University.

Placement Experience

4

When we talk of my course placements are the best thing to watch for.no other can match the placements of computer science when compared to Chandigarh University. About 450+ companies visited the campus of which more than 50% were for CSE. About 4500+ students got placed as a whole from the university. CSE gets over 80% of their students being placed.

College Events

3

Mainly all important events are being celebrated here including the tech fest, cultural fest, most enjoyable tashan nights, and time to time management fests are being celebrated where students from all over the region come to participate actively. Tashan nights is biggest of all where various famous singers come to the place.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is most affordable when we compare it with the other private universities of the region. I have to pay a fee of 54000/- per semester .On which various scholarships are provided. Hostel is also available for the students at a structure of 70000/- per year. A yearly examination fees of 1000/- is also taken.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships based on 12th marks is available.i got 81% and is availed with 20% on tuition fees.scholarships are also available on the basis of minority castes, army personals, JEE score, or the financially weaker students. Various loans are also available from PNB, Axis banks of upto 4 lacs.

Admission

I went to the admission cell of the university where i was given with various availability of courses and their respective seats that were available. I opted for computer science for which i had to show my JEE score card. I were to pay the nominal fee at that time . A good scholarship scheme was provided to me based on my 12th score which was 81%. The registration process was done during the classes .

Faculty

3.5

Faculty is one of the best standards when we talk about the course. Full dedication is shown by majority of the faculty except some . Faculty is capable of handling extreme topics and difficult situations that may occur. Faculty possess a proper knowledge of everything they teach .

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
