Entrance Preview

I gave the test of IIT JEE, my score was 114 marks which came out to be 1,15,387 AIR , I liked the environment of this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The first year remains the same for the entire branch students so that there students who wants to change stream can change within a year. Then after that the course starts with the basic structure in programming then it goes to the advanced level of programming .

Internships Opportunities

No, our college does not provide up with any kind of internship program which should have been there for our proper development.

Placement Experience

It is quite bad in our college because the companies that come up here are quite limited and to be precise in our branch (CSE) it's only one company which comes and that is INFOSYS so we don't have much of the option here rather than going out of campus placement .

College Events

The college holds up a number of various different events . The variety is quite large however the events are the same in all of the same. The only problem up here is that on every event they have the regular classes going and the event ends up before 6 p.m so we don't have the night time celebration.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college fee is as same as that of a private college which is moderate . Per semester fee is Approximately fifty thousand rupees exclusive of the hostel charges which is Approximately 2500 monthly and 7000 during the registration of the hostel.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, Our college do have a scholarship program for the students who pass their semesters without any back log in any subjects however even when we fill the forms and do every procedure correctly the scholarship is never given to us.

Hostel Facilities

We have total of four boys hostel namely Ganga,Yamuna ,Satluj and Beas. If i were to rate the hostels i would rate them 3 out of 10 on the basis of facility and 5 out of 10 on the basis of food and 5 out of 10 on the basis of cleanliness and 2 out of 10 on the basis of hygiene.

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Exam Structure

We have overall 8 semesters in which each semester includes two mid semester tests which are of 24 marks and one end semester test which is the final test of a semester which is of 60 marks. Students get the rest of the 40 marks on the basis of their performance.

Admission

I saw the paper advertisement of the college. I called on the number mentioned and the told the date on which the admission was starting. I went on the spot and filled up the form to get the admission. Counselling started according to the rank of IIT JEE and i got my desired stream.

Faculty

The faculty of our college are not that knowledgeable because most of them are freshers and they don't have the deep knowledge. They just teaches what is written on the book and expects that students just mug-up the entire thing and write up in exam.

Likes

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Dislikes

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

The Scholarship benefit is good when compared to other universities the fee is also not very huge.The Infrastructure of the campus was vast and there arelots of stall to purchase food items etc
There is a big mall through which You can get necessary items .In every hostel you will have departmental stores
The faculty was highly qualified. The Placements opportunities are also good The average was offered was 5-6 LPA.The Lpu newly Launched Education Revolution is very good for students

Dislikes

The mandatory 75% attendance policy for every subject.If you not maintain you will debar from End term examinations which is not all good
The Roads are not that much good .The roads are made of parking tiles instead of Thar
The distance between hostels and main gates are nearly 1.5 -2 km which not at all good .but there e-rickshaw they charge 15 rupees per person to drop from hostel to main gate

The course cirriculum changes every year by rapid changes happening due to AI The University has also launched a new school called School of AI and emerging technologies.from this every year syllabus changesand exams pattern changes .the difficulty of exams is increasing day by day.

Inside NITJ- Beyond the Brochure

Likes

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts
Skilled professional educators and tutors

Dislikes

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

Placement Experience:

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements and tata or Infosys companies visited and about 60 to 70 percent students were placed and my plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies doing mtech from iit

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late
Great mentors and very helpful teachers who are always willing to help

The hectic schedule and curriculum that the students have to follow.
The lack of certain facilities that would help the students improve thoer personalities
Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
