Entrance Preview

I had given AIEEE for getting admission in this university in Computer science field. At my time , last rank who get admission is 65000. This university is the best university in the punjab . Also from the placement perspective. Here all the good companies came for the recruitment.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course is good. Teachers are good and teaches well. Practicals are there from which you will get more knowledge. University will provide more options to take part in cultural , sports as well as educational contests. There is a technical society of the university which conducts some technical contests and also arrange educational classes for the student at free of cost.

Internships Opportunities

No, college didn't provide internship but invites various companies or local institutes which provide internship with stipend or some with very less fee.

Placement Experience

5

Placement department is really good. Before the start of the placement , they arrange some sessions on how to give job interviews and conduct various mock tests. Sessions are given by external specialists. All those sessions are really helpful to prepare for the interview.

College Events

5

Each year there is a cultural fest which are having various activities like Bhangra , folk dance, hip-hop dance. And also the speech competitions along with that some GK contest , some drama's , comedy shows. Along with that there are sports festivals includes cricket , marathon , swimming , arches.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Semester fee structure is there. Semester fee is around 40-50K. One semester it's around 40K and another around 50K , so approx. full year fee is 90K.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is provided to the weak income students. Also scholarship is there is brother/sister is same college.

Campus Life

4

A note on campus life, gender ratio and diversity. All the extracurricular activities like labs, sports, competitions such as robotics, debates etc. – are there in the college. Extra certifications are provided in HTML,android , java Gender ratio at my time M:F 3:2. But there is no restriction for admission of male/female.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is the semester system. In one semester we are having 3 times minor exams having seperate syllabus in each minors. After that in the end of the semester there is the final major exams which will include the complete syllabus that are part of 3 minors plus some extra syllabus. Marking system is the CGPA system.

Admission

Must have more than 60% in +2. Apply for this university, Go to the prescribed dates(dates are mentioned as per the rank). Acc. to the rank seats are allocated. There is news in the newspaper regarding the admission form and the url link also. That form includes all the punjab colleges and universities.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
