Remarks

All are Good things about my college. It is good in terms of location, placement, college faculties, college infrastructure, research etc. No any bad issues with the college. You can come freely in the college, study and go. Try to be communicative with professors. All the best.Reason for preferring it over other college is its placement. About 90% students get placed. Jee mains result came in June 2018 and and counseling started soon after that. I applied for all the available colleges in preference order of good college, good branch, nearest college, etc. I got selected for NIT Silchar with Electronics and communication Engineering in First round and it remained same till all 6 round. So I went there for admission.I searched various places to get the view of colleges but I preferred mostly https://collegedunia.com/ website. This website is very good to get all required details.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose ECE as my branch course because of its versatility. It is one of the best and most preferred branch after CSE. With ECE one can appear for IES exam which is one of the finest exam to enter to good post in Indian railways. There is lots of research scopes with the branch. Hence I preferred it over others.I found ECE professors are very good, interactive and helpful in any problem. All professors are having 10+ year experience with not less than research scientist in their field. That is why NIT Silchar ranked high in research field. In each semester(six months), there is two exams, one is mid semester(20 marks) and other is end semester(50 marks) and other 20 marks are awarded on student attendance and activeness in class. All term exams are taken on time and its date is confirmed to students a month earlier. Term exam is not very difficult to pass if student attends the class and focus on what professor tells to remember. All the study material is provided prior to teaching and exam and Asia's biggest library present here takes care of everyone.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

There various paid and non-paid internship opportunity is provided in our college. Some f the companies like Saps India, Samsung, Oracle, Amazon, flipcart, and many more provided paid internships of around 15 to 30 thousand per month. I got a unpaid internship opportunity from my college drive as full stack web developer in Visudh Ajivam, Jharkhand. Main project task was to create the company website and enable all the functions including payment integration with php. I created the website and integrated it with php in backend.

Placement Experience

5

From sixth semester student become eligible for the placement and job opportunities. The companies the visited in NIT Silchar most recently are: Arcesium, MedLife, HSBC, Samsung, BookMyShow, Addverb Technologies, Incture Technologies, Bridge & Roof Co. (India) Ltd, Veritas, IBM, MathWorks, Oyo, Oracle, Goibibo, Optum Unitedhealth Group, Tredence, First American, Posoco, Dalmia Cement, Prism Cement, TATA Advanced Systems, Berger, Saint Gobain, Philips, OnePlus etc. Many more new companies also visit our campus each year. These companies made several offers and many of NIT silchar get advantages and get selected. In CSE branch students get placed for job role SDE-1 and data analytics in Samsung, BookMyShow, IBM, MathWorks, Oyo, Oracle, Goibibo, etc companies. ECE, ME,EE, EI branch students also offered for SDE-1 and data analytics. Some of them choose the core jobs.Highest Package: B. Tech. 35 lpa , M. Tech. 10.5 lpa and MBA 7.25 lpa .Average Package: B. Tech. 7.70 lpa , M. Tech. 5.72 lpa and MBA 4 lpa Above 90% students of NIT Silchar get placed. My plan after getting degree is to get the placement and do the job and enjoy the life.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee hike in our college is very less (around 1000 rupees changes after 4-5 years) which is done to adjust the requirement and according to policy of central government. Fee structure is very less in comparison to other colleges what I got. One can get all details about the fees of all courses and branches on the official website of NIT Silchar.Since my family income is below 1 lacs, I need not to pay tution fee. All other fee and expenditure(around 19,000 ) plus mess and hostel fee(around 31,000 ) takes around 50,000 year. Since I am in third year I haven't got any job opportunity. Currently I am doing unpaid internships to learn and explore my skills.

Campus Life

4.5

Life at NIT Silchar is amazing and adventures. Each day we get new thing to explore and never feel boring. Lots of student and faculty group is ready to make us happy. Campus is too wide and big enough. Large number of shops available inside campus to ease student and other community. State bank of India branch is available inside campus with ATM. NIT Silchar provides high speed network to everyone. Others bank ATMs are also available. Post office is also present in the campus. More than 30 hostels(including student, workers, faculty and phd scholars) are present in institute with capacity of around 10000. Lots of lakes are available inside campus(around 20). One can visit there staying away from water. Kendriya Vidyalaya is also available inside campus. Every branch has its own research buildings and materials and instrument. Guest house is also present.Social life is also good at NIT Silchar. One can talk to everyone, including any faculty and any senior without any hesitation. Since NIT Silchar is 100% ragging free, there is no need to worry about anything. There is common mess for all the student of a hostel. All senior and junior share same hostel. So, there is lots of communication and understanding within us.There are various clubs in NIT Silchar to enhance the skills of student of college and entertain them to create the balance between study and co-curricular activities. Few of them are Gymkhana union body(to announce the student about the various activity of student), NITS Robotics club(to train the students to create robots), NITS Chess Club(help the student to learn and participate the student to various chess competition), Gyansagar( to help poor student in study and help poor section of society by donations), ILLUMINITS(a litrary club to teach and publish student with languages), NITS Quiz Club( organizes quizzes and competitions to make student ready to face interviews), NITS Sports Club( helps students to learn various sports such as football, cricket, basketball, kabaddi, table tennis, chess etc and makes them to participate in national level competition) and Training and Placement Cell(help the student to get placement and job opportunity).Annual fest of my college NIT Silchar are named as Incandescence, Thundermarch and Posua. Exam Structure

I applied for jee mains 2018 and appeared for online exam and score 145 marks out of 360. So I qualified and got admission in NIT silchar. I didn't applied for other entrance exams. Jee advanced: got 90/360. qualified but couldn't get any college.

Admission

Jee mains exam is very popular exam which is now going with two exams in a year. To pass exam a candidate must qualify at least one exam. If anyone gives both exams then maximum of two is counted for admission in colleges. Jee mains exam is offline an online both. It has 90 objective questions with total marks 360. If a candidate gives right answer for a question, then he or she gets 4 marks. Only one option is correct. Ticking wrong answer gives negative mark of -1. Not attempting a question awards zero for particular question.I prepared this exam by self study. I focused on NCERT physics, Chemistry and Maths and before a month of Jee mains exam I started the practice of previous year jee mains questions It worked a lot for me.

The curriculum prepares students mainly to pursue careers in academic fields and research fields. More practical aspects can be added to provide a holistic knowledge to the students. The exams are very well planed.

I choose this course i.e. department of Botany because the department ensuring a strong theoretical foundations along with the practical experience. The course prepares well for students as the acedemic results is always good which will make gratutides well equipped for jobs. Some sections of the course should be updated to meet the latest technology, more guests lectures and the interships should be provided to the students. The exams clustering of multiple exams should be within times which relases unneccsary stress, the exams are conducted easy to insane which is very challenging for the students.
