Remarks

The admission procedure required you to submit your 12th mark sheet, aadhar card, 10th mark sheet, the DU form specifying the course you applied to. I was eligible for admission in the college when the 7th cut-off was released and the cut-off was 91%. If you have scored a 91% or above you were eligible. This percentage is your best of 4 scores in the 12th class. After you submit the documents you are required to pay fees online through the portal. I was confused between Ramanujan and Dayal Singh college but eventually went for Ramanujan because of better faculty, infrastructure, and accreditation by NAAC.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I pursued B.com(Hons) from this college. The faculty was well versed with subjects. The professors conducted a frequent class tests to be marked for internals. Their teaching methods were such that you would understand the subjects and they were always open to doubt sessions. The semester exams were conducted in November and April. Before the even semester exam, you were required to get clearance from the library and finance department. The exams were for 3 hours and those who had practical would have a theoretical exam of 1 hour.

Internships Opportunities

3

KPMG and EY offer profiles like "audit associate" and "financial analyst" with an average package of 3.2LPA and 3.5 LPA respectively. You have to sit for an aptitude test consisting of questions from various sections like QUANT, DILR, AND VARC. If you clear the passing round you need to submit a video interview answering some basic questions about yourself. If you get selected then the next step would be to clear the PI round. Many companies also hold GD before aptitude tests but due to pandemics, that option was skipped.

Placement Experience

3.5

The campus placement starts from the 5th semester. You can sit for the interview and when you get selected you will receive the offer letter after 1-2 months before completing your graduation. Companies like EY, DE shaw, KPMG, ICICI bank visited and the placement % was 30% because the maximum number of people opt for post-graduation afterward. The highest package offered was 12LPA. For the position of Finance associate at De Shaw. After the degree, I would prepare for CAT and side by side pursue an internship and ultimately go for post-graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fee is 15000 rs. Which covers the infrastructural and faculty cost along with a library, IT department, and sports equipment cost. The canteen was subsidized and you would have to pay around 30-40 rs for a meal. A lot of my friends got placed in KPMG and EY with an average package of 3.5lac. There were multiple internship opportunities that the placement cell would arrange for students and there were various seminars about placement training.

Campus Life

4.5

Comdezvous is the annual commerce fest conducted every year on a very large scale. It is one of the main fests of the college. The library is well equipped with the books you need to pass the semester provided you get them issued as soon as the semester starts. The books get exhausted really soon. The classrooms are well lit, and the main building is equipped with AC and a projector too. The benches are comfortable and the ventilation is perfect. The college is really huge. Although there is no separate space for basketball or badminton to be played. there are various societies in the college that you can be associated with like the commerce society: Ramcomm, the eco-friendly society: TATVA, fashion society: PANACHE, the music society, the drama society. These societies give you an opportunity to be in a position of responsibility and carry out various events.

The course provides a comprehensive image of finance and management, though after NEP, the curriculum seems a little irrelevent. The exams are conducted twice in a year, 2 sems per year, they conduct mid sem exams as well.
