Remarks

There were not any admission criteria as in general and the admission process was very smooth first they did counseling of students about what and which field they should choose. What opportunities they will get after that and to follow your interest and passion.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose the computer science field as I was interested in that so much and that is a very vast field with great creative and innovative ideas. All teachers are post-graduated and senior-most head of departments have even done Phd. Two times mid-term and final exam in each semester.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internship opportunities like database analytic, business development associate, etc. Project related to machine learning, data science, web development, android, and languages like c, c++, java, Python, react.

Placement Experience

3

From 6th semester students can sit for placements. TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO, BYJU'S, NAGARRO, ACCENTURE, AMAZON etc. Around 100 students get placed. Highest package 16/- lakh by Amazon and average 4 lakh. Average percentage of students getting placement is 80%. My plan is to get placed in well reputed company.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees hike 10% after every year in your course. There is scholarship exam test that happens before admission and through that my first semester fees was less 25% from the actual fees. Many companies come for placement and before that students get a chance to do training also to know the real world work culture.

Campus Life

3

Annual fest is pryaas held every year in the month of February and hackathon tech fest happens every semester and recently they have also started college chapter from different coding platforms like geeks for geeks, San foundry and code chef. Sports meet happens every year in the month of February and there are many societies which organize different competitions for students like 5-10 every month. Societies like ASSET, ACES, LIGHT HOUSE, LIBRARY committee,CAMPUS PLACEMENT etc.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
