Remarks

Didn't get any quota. The admission process was simple, just go and pay fees. There is cucet exam for scholarship admission. Three is no requirement for marks or age. I chose mechanical engineering,if you want then you should have nonmedical background

Course Curriculum Overview

Mechanical is an evergreen course and gives advantage as you can apply in any job whether it is cs/it of core job. The faculty is good and supportive. the exam is not difficult if you study and vice versa. there are 2 MST and then the end semester test.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 82000 per year

Internships Opportunities

In mechanical engineering, in 7th sem, we get internship+job offers but most of the companies are of IT sector. In which we are unable to perform based on our mechanical background but in the 8th semester we have to do an internship.

Placement Experience

From 7th semester students become eligible for placement drive but to sit in placement drive there is a program called top in which we learn aptitude and soft skill which helps us in the placement drive. The average package is around 3-3.5 CTC or LPA. There is lot of competition in placement around 3-5k students sit and at the ends, only 5-10 students is qualified for an interview and then they are shortlisted for job.

Fees and Financial Aid

Every year there is an increase in fees per semester as well as a hostel. Comapnies do visit in campus but there is very much competition as around 5k students give tests out of which only 2-5 students get job offer.I am in the 7th semester and till now i didn't get any job offer

Campus Life

There is lots of fest and events. Big star like Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani singers like Badshah and more visit and conduct fest.there is students welfare department in which all the events are coordinated and students gets a chance to organize events

Hostel Facilities

I live in a 4roommate room.We get 4 beds ,4almirah,4 study table some rooms have balcony,some don't.Food is below average but sometimes its good and best thing in hostel mess is curd .And we get canteens in hostel till 10-11pm.There are lots of society if someone wants to avail pgs or flat

An honest look at campus

Likes

The university boasts an excellent, massive campus infrastructure with great amenities and highly diverse student crowd provides great cultural exposure
While the engineering batches naturally leans towards more boys (around 1:3 girl to boy ratio)
Availability off dedicated campus mentorship programming and technical club provided a great platform.

Dislikes

The campus administration enforced incredibly strict security and daily restrictions which feel a little overwhelmed
The total no of students in a course like cse is massive. So the competition for the high tier placement is very intense.
If we need any information or some help from the administration they will make it lag and go to that window this window and we will not get the information ww required

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro,cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed.The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

LPU's REVIEW WITH HONESTY AND CREDIBILITY

Likes

The Scholarship benefit is good when compared to other universities the fee is also not very huge.The Infrastructure of the campus was vast and there arelots of stall to purchase food items etc
There is a big mall through which You can get necessary items .In every hostel you will have departmental stores
The faculty was highly qualified. The Placements opportunities are also good The average was offered was 5-6 LPA.The Lpu newly Launched Education Revolution is very good for students

Dislikes

The mandatory 75% attendance policy for every subject.If you not maintain you will debar from End term examinations which is not all good
The Roads are not that much good .The roads are made of parking tiles instead of Thar
The distance between hostels and main gates are nearly 1.5 -2 km which not at all good .but there e-rickshaw they charge 15 rupees per person to drop from hostel to main gate

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course cirriculum changes every year by rapid changes happening due to AI The University has also launched a new school called School of AI and emerging technologies.from this every year syllabus changesand exams pattern changes .the difficulty of exams is increasing day by day.

My College Journey

Likes

The things i liked most was it's lush green campus where you actually feels nature beauty
All academic buildings are well maintained here
There are lots of gurudwara nearby, which also become attractive spots for students

Dislikes

Sometimes you feel water scarcity in college hostel
There are many students who are addicted with drugs and cigarette
Mess food is ok but it can be improved, Most of the days food is oily

Course Curriculum Overview:

SLIET longowal has well structured curriculum as per new education policy with well structured labs. to prepare for real world, college provide funds for startup and also motivate students to gain industry exposure. Many improvements can be done in curriculum like integration of cutting edge technologies, smart board, digital labs. There are three exams per semester two minors which take place in month of august and september and major or end sem exam in month of october, the timing of exam was from 1 pm to 4 pm. the difficulty level of exam is moderate

Likes

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts
Skilled professional educators and tutors

Dislikes

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

Placement Experience:

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

I am satisfied with this college i like this college a lot

Likes

Big campus and beautiful garden and environment
Aqi was soo good because plants and tree was so much

Dislikes

Mess food was bad but it doesn't taste that bad
If we Complaint about anything college mostly ignore it

Placement Experience:

From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements and tata or Infosys companies visited and about 60 to 70 percent students were placed and my plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies doing mtech from iit

FROM CLASSROOM TO CONFIDENCE

Likes

Good and Huge campus, many states are there by which you will see diversity. And the Girls ratio boys is 62:8, this time in my course in 1st year there were only 8 girls in a class of 70.
EVENTS- There are events are conducted everyday.
There are many courts for all the sports for playing.

Dislikes

Mess Food is very unlikely to eat, the quality is bad.
During rainy season there will be everywhere water bulged up in roads infront of hostels.
High hostel price, the hostel after very small compare to what we pay if you buy room outside in half the same price you will get very good room with ac, fridge ,etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements in lovely professional university is decent and dont know much about it as i am in 1st year only but there were mandatory Placement classes for all which you need to select in 1st year only for which you need to pay extra 20k for the classes.

Likes

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late
Great mentors and very helpful teachers who are always willing to help

Dislikes

The hectic schedule and curriculum that the students have to follow.
The lack of certain facilities that would help the students improve thoer personalities
Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

I gave cucet but can't find the college that have cse in their colleges. That time my father was recently posted in chandigarh as chandigarh university was very close to me and the transport is also easy and I don't have to pay the hostel fees and I can be a day scholar also so I choosed this college as it provide a good network of peoples. The admission process was to simple ,I just applied for their entrance online exam cucet and booked a slot gave online test of 100 mcq from the selected domain and after that I got scholarship and to confirm my seat I have to pay 10000 part of my semester fees (that 10000 was from my semester fees) and after doing online formalities and upload document.
