Remarks

Generally for SASTRA University, the admission procedure is mainly on the merit base. There is some priority and reservation for Tamil Nadu students as it's the home state, but as I belong to Andhra Pradesh no special reservation is there for me. For admission into SASTRA, one should have to apply on the college website for the admissions and they should have to give their 12th and JEE scores. According to those scores, admissions ranks are given to all applied candidates. There are two steams namely stream-1 in which admissions happens regarding both JEE and 12th scores. Where are in stream-2, ranks are given based only upon the 12th scores? Among the total number of seats, 50 percent were reserved for stream-1 and the rest 50 for stream-2. According to those ranks, counselling happens and seats are given.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

As I am Computer Science (CSE) student, the course is excellent. While coming to sastra, provide a lot of opportunities to the CSE students. It allows us to opt for several open electives and college electives. The course design pattern is well thought. The faculty is also very student-friendly and solves the doubts of students. Most of the faculty are PhD holders. For each section means for every 60 students, a mentor is allotted and he takes care of us and teachers are also there for us.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Generally, Internship opportunities are given to students in their 3rd year or 5th semester. By normal recruiting hiring process. Some of the companies visited for 3rd year students are Wells Fargo, Accenture, etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

SASTRA is very excellently known for its placements . Generally campus placements starts from 7th semester beginnning . But a few internship oppetunities are given for 3rd year students from 5th semester , but less . Many comapnies visit sastra some of them are TCS, Wipro, Accenture, IBM, Delloite, Optum, PWC, HP, etc. Mostly students with no backlogs will get placed. Around more than 70% students will get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

As compared to the other deemed universities, the fees are a little less in SASTRA which charges around 70,000 per sem. It varies from sem to sem. While coming to the scholarship opportunities, we can apply for the NSP scholarship program by the central government and can avail of the scholarship. Also, SASTRA gives a special scholarship for the merit students who have performed well in academics.

Campus Life

4

College life is pretty much good and the social life is also good. It is more of a friendly atmosphere kinda situation. As many students from all over India will come here to study, we can connect with a lot of people of different types such that we can expand our connection. Also, many technical and cultural clubs promote student activities inside the college. The annual fest is Kuruksastra and the technical fest is Daksh. Also, there is a big playground for sports.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are good but not as expected. While coming to the rooms, there are shelves where we can store our belongings. Coming to the main point which is food, the food is worst here and not as good. The only drawback is, it is a completely Vegetarian hostel and Non-Vegetarian is strictly prohibited here and strict actions for those who brought Non_Veg, Milk is given in the hostel every day and evening snacks are also there.

Interview Experience

3

There is no test while admissions. Also, there are not any Group Discussions, Interviews or Written tests. The only criteria for admissions is the marks based upon our 12th and JEE scores. They will give us ranks based upon them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
